I have had a confirmation these work with AirPlay 2 as the primary way of using them, and once you've set them up as stereo pairs in the Sonos App, you can then use them as such for AirPlay.

Account creation and confirmation took an excessive amount of time on Sonos' site, otherwise the whole process went smoothly. They perform as a stereo pair properly. I think their wifi is not as robust as an old Airport Express 2, but it's acceptable.
In terms of sound quality, if stereo HomePods are a 10 and run of the mill powered computer speakers are a 1, these are a solid 6. Though to be fair, if and when I move them to a more optimal playing position, that might become a 7.

I found myself at Ikea yesterday and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how good these things sounded given their price point.
