OLED keypad control

Came across the following :

https://www.infinitton.com and
https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/stream-deck

and it got me thinking. Maybe I could use these as a wall or bedside keypad controller. You can upload graphics to the buttons and they can issue a URL call (restful API) to control events in indigo. I know it’s a usb device but depending on positioning and distance from control MAC it would work. You could even run a USB wireless hub for larger distances.

Not got all the info on them yet but your could have separate images based on device status. One of them even has some audio feedback capability.

Could even use it as an alarm keypad and have the numbers randomise their position to stop shoulder surfing!

Any gamers had experience if this hardware?

Re: OLED keypad control

Those are pretty slick! Of course there are other factors to consider aside from the elevated cost of the device plus a Wifi USB hub and that is how programmable it is to dim or brighten those buttons at bed time. I have a KeyPadLinc next to my bed and for $69 it's easy to justify that because it's fully controllable from Indigo. I do like how those are programmable, so much so I may order one just for my regular computing needs!

My Modest Contributions to Indigo:

HomeKit Bridge | Device Extensions | Security Manager | LCD Creator | Room-O-Matic | Smart Dimmer | Scene Toggle | Powermiser | Homebridge Buddy

Agree, maybe you could push a global black .gif at bedtime, then push the button .gifs on motion (with timeout) etc

Looks like you can do some cool graphic effects, but as you say the price is a little high

Re: OLED keypad control

You can get wireless USB hubs that may work for your requirement?

eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/IOGear-Wireles ... B0026M9Y2K

Re: OLED keypad control

.... or maybe an adaptation of Karl’s excellent Arduino plugin using the usb port of a small Arduino like NodeMCU?

Note also that there’s “Stream Deck Mobile” iOS app!!

its certainly do-able as demonstrated by this product http://labs.frostbox.net/products/macro-stream-sd/]which uses custom code on a Raspberry Pi as a bridge to a digital audio console.
