I've tried twice now to send a private message. They both appear in the Outbox. How do I get them to send and thus show in the Sent items?

I believe they appear in your outbox until the recipient opens it.

Isn’t that kind of counterintuitive? I guess I was thinking it was like email, Outbox while you’re working on it, Sent box once you hit send.

Apparently, you can edit and delete a PM while it is in the outbox (thus it hasn't been read yet),
