RF errors in controller log

Hi I am very new to both X-10 and Indigo and am not having any major problems yet but I am concerned about the event log.

Every day I find lots of error messages in the controller event log.

I am using a CM15PRO controller and get the following types of messages (but many more of them in a 24 hour period):

22 Oct 2009 11:21:19
Error undefined RF packet type (14) from interface
Error undefined byte (C4) from interface
Error undefined byte (7F) from interface
Error undefined byte (40) from interface

22 Oct 2009 13:50:44
Error undefined RF packet type (14) from interface
Error undefined byte (81) from interface
Error undefined byte (90) from interface

22 Oct 2009 16:08:42
Error undefined RF packet type (14) from interface
Error undefined byte (48) from interface
Error undefined byte (D9) from interface
Error undefined byte (60) from interface

22 Oct 2009 16:32:21
Error undefined RF packet type (14) from interface
Error undefined byte (A9) from interface
Error undefined byte (A1) from interface
Error undefined byte (10) from interface

22 Oct 2009 17:41:38
Error undefined RF packet type (14) from interface
Error undefined byte (0D) from interface
Error undefined byte (90) from interface

My question is what are they and what do they mean? Are they indicative of a dirty power supply to the house? They occur throughout the day and night, so cannot be due to switching.

Does anyone have an idea?

Many thanks

Re: RF errors in controller log

I believe the CM15Pro (or a newer firmware version of the CM15Pro) is sending commands to Indigo that it doesn't recognize. If you are using Indigo 4.1.1, then try turning off the "Report error on receiving corrupt commands" checkbox inside the Interface Options dialog (via the Preferences dialog). I don't believe those errors are really corrupt packets, but I think turning off that checkbox should suppress the logging errors you are seeing.

Many thanks for the quick response.

I am using v4.1.0 and the box was already unchecked.

Good thought though.

Use 4.1.1. I fixed a bug in it that makes that checkbox work with the CM15. :-)

Hi there

I have to say that over the last 48 hours I have had no further error messages in the event log. Upgrading to v4.1.1 seemed to fix it.

Many thanks

Duncan
