Local Server not starting after reboot

I have Indigo Server 2021.2 running on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

When the machine reboots, I get the message below.
Server Connection Failed.png

I click on the "Start Local Server" and I am presented with the following:
Start Local Server.png

Note that "Auto Start Indigo Server on user login" is already clicked.

At first I cannot click "restart server", but if I enable "Also allow HTTP Basic authentication" and then immediately disable it, the "restart server" button becomes enabled. I click it and everything works fine.

So. . . . Why is my local server not starting automatically?

Re: Local Server not starting after reboot

Do you have the Indigo Mac app set as a startup item? If so, then that's the issue - the client is getting started before the server auto-starts so you get that error.

Re: Local Server not starting after reboot

So the server will start automatically without making any settings for that, and the client should not start automatically?f. Then I have to manually start the client if I want? Does the server execute all the actions and triggers without the client running?

Re: Local Server not starting after reboot

Not exactly, yes and yes. The server process is a background process that's started based on the setting in the Start Local Server dialog (Auto start Indigo Server on user login). The client process only needs to run when you are making changes to your configuration. The server does all the real work of processing schedules, triggers, control pages, actions, etc.

Re: Local Server not starting after reboot

As you can see from the screen shots, the account "Indigo" is set to autologin, and it automatically runs Indigo 2021.2.

My experience is that Indigo starts up. It is the local server that files to start up. I'm not quite sure who or what is supposed to start that, or if there is some log somewhere that can tell me what is going on.

Yes, that is exactly the problem. Remove the login item, it's not necessary and what is causing the problem.

Ah thanks. I didn't realize that the client was unnecessary. Everything is working perfectly.
