[ANSWERED]Activate a plugin remotely

To activate/update/downgrade a plugin I have to login to my macmini, where Indigo is running, and double click the plugin. But my macmini acts as a server and I always have to establish a screensharing... Is there no way to activate/upgrade a new plugin just by copy the plugin to the server and then do somethin with the Indigo remote connection?

Re: Activate a plugin remotely

Enabled plugins reside here on the server Mac:

/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/Plugins/

So, if you can mount the server disk on your local Mac, then you can replace the one in that directory with the updated one. You will then have to restart the server, but you can do that with a local Indigo client talking to your remote server.

Re: [ANSWERED]Activate a plugin remotely

you should not need to restart the indigo server when you update a plugin .. only when you upgrade the indigo software itself .. but it does that automatically

here is how I would upgrade a plugin:
1. map the indigo directory (/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/ ) to your mac
2. disable the old plugin using the remote indigo client
3. download the new plugin version and copy to /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/Plugins (Disabled) = overwrite the old plugin
4. enable plugin using the remote indigo client

Sorry, what I meant to say was that you will then have to restart the plugin, but you can do that with a local Indigo client. Just select the Plugins->Plugin Name->Reload menu item. If you're installing a new plugin, it's unfortunately a bit more difficult. In that case we recommend using the built-in screen sharing functionality in Mac OS X to just control the whole Mac.
