Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

New issue under same title....

My situation:
Recently had a hard drive crash (an iMac) and had to change to a new Mac mini
With the help of Indigo support (thank you), I was able to transfer the Indigo application files from my Time Machine backup to my new Mac mini.
Installed (downloaded) latest Indigo application and all of my devices, triggers, schedules, etc. are now present in the application and appear to work (happy!)
I added Indigo to my accepted firewall applications (Indigo 2022.1)
But, I'm getting a "Reflector Connection Down" message on my iPhone and cannot connect remotely.
I tried restarting the Indigo Server a few times.
I changed the Indigo Port setting to 1176 per some information on this forum.
No events in the Event Log with word "reflector"
Rebooted several times to see if it would fix it (did not).
Re-downloaded the Indigo App and reinstalled to see if it would fix it (did not).
Don't see the message on this new Mac mini I used to get from my older hard drive on start-up asking permission to connect to the IndigoServer

Any suggested next steps to try?

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

I tried the reflector reset and reactivation twice. But, did not fix the issue.

I do see this in my event log:

Jul 28, 2022 at 4:52:14 AM
Reloading plugin "Web Server 2022.1.1" using API v2.5
Starting plugin "Web Server 2022.1.1" (pid 859)
Error plugin "Web Server 2022.1.1" (pid 859) failed to start -- restarting in 20 seconds

I looked in the list of plug-ins and don't see a "Web Server..." plug-in. I then turned off all three plug-ins I had enabled to see if one of those were the issue, but it did not resolve. I still get the error above in my event log. That same error repeats every 20 seconds.

I also tried this solution https://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=26223&p=210981&hilit=Web+Server+2022.1.1#p210981 (from another post) and it did not resolve the reflector issue, but it did get rid of the error noted above. See next post.

Shutdown the server, disable any firewalls you have, then restart the server.

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

Thank you Jay for the reply.

I tried those steps and I still get the "reflector connection Down" message on my Indigo Touch (v 2.1.2) app.

I also tried deactivating and activating my reflector too and then tried. Same outcome (not connecting).

Here is my event log for the above session:

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

That really looks like you are having some systemic network issues (the Hue bridge also having connection issues and the constant client disconnect messages seem to reinforce the idea since neither of those are related to the reflector). I thought it might be some kind of firewall issue, but if you don't have any enabled that wouldn't be it. What kind of physical network connection are you using (WiFi, ethernet, etc)? Do you have any unusual network configurations (host name overrides, etc)?

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

Jay:

I did have my internet connection running through an Apple Extreme Router located next to my desktop. So, to rule that out, I just ran the ethernet cable from the wall to my new Mac mini's ethernet plug. I rebooted my machine and then stopped and restarted the Indigo application server. Next, I tried the deactivate/reactivate the reflector too. All of the above, including during my prior posts my firewall settings are on OFF.

The previous Hue notices were because I had those devices active in my Indigo device list (and plug-in), but had not plugged back in and reestablished the Hue Hub. So, I just deactivated all of those Including the plug-in) and those messages no longer appear in my Event Log.

Below is my latest event log that is showing up upon a server stop and start. I don't know what all those "client disconnect" messages relate to. Are those Indigo Server related or Apple / Mac mini O/S messages?

I still do not see my home indigo server listed in my Indigo Touch app.

I've not made any changes to my Network settings within the Apple O/S. I just accepted what was in there to begin with (out of the box). Is there something there I should look at? Let me know if you need any screen shots of that.

Finally, here is how my system is behaving now. Again, this is after recovering files from a Time Machine backup, installing a new Mac mini and then downloading and activating the latest version of Indigo. Not sure if these would provide any clues too:

1. I can turn on and off any device on my system from the Indigo desktop application
2. Certain scheduled routines are working while others are not. For example, I've always had a lights on at sunset with an all lights out at midnight scheduled event. But, now only the sunset lights on event happens and the lights off at midnight does not work.
3. My motion triggers have worked sporadically. Sometimes they will trigger the lights they are supposed to and somethings they do not. I resynched them all too and it did not resolve the intermittent issue.

Thanks again for hanging in there with me. And, for the help.

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

Take a screenshot of your Start Local Server dialog and email it to me (support@indigodomo.com). Reference this thread.

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

Never mind - you have both the Indigo (client) and the Web server configured with the same port numbers in the Start Local Server dialog. The can't be the same. The default is to have the web server port set to 8176 (not 1176).

Re: Indigo Touch Connection Problem

OMG! That was it. With that change, my home Indigo Server now shows up on my Indigo Touch app. Life is good once again!

Thank you so much. I appreciate you hanging in there with me.
