Are you new to Indigo and/or home automation in general and have questions before you decide to buy? Looking for recommendations on your first purchase? Post those types of questions here. Note - once you've started using Indigo, use the correct forum below to post implementation questions.

Discuss any issues you may run across installing, moving, upgrading, or uninstalling Indigo.

These forums are for basic usage questions that aren't necessarily technology specific. So if you have questions about any of the main objects in Indigo (see sub-forums below) then this is the right place to ask. Questions about specific technologies (Z-Wave, INSTEON, etc.) should be asked in the Supported Interfaces/Technologies section below.

If you have a feature you'd like to see in Indigo, post it here. Others can refine the idea if they like. Please keep each topic to one feature or a closely related set of features and don't add other unrelated requests to an existing topic. Use the Hardware Support Requests forum below to request support for some bit of hardware - but be sure to check the 3rd Party Plugins Forum first though to make sure there isn't already a plugin for it.

Use these forums to discuss the specific technologies that Indigo supports out of the box: Z-Wave, INSTEON, X10, and our Virtual Devices Interface. You can check our 3rd Party Plugins Forum for support of other types of devices.

Discuss hardware that Indigo supports out of the box. This list is not an all-inclusive list - check the Supported Home Automation Hardware page for a more complete list. This section is curated, so you can only post on existing topics. If you have a question about a device not listed, post it in the appropriate technology specific section (Z-Wave, Insteon, etc). Note: this does not include hardware supported by 3rd party plugins. Check the 3rd Party Plugins Forum (or other forum as appropriate) to discuss those devices.

Use these forums to ask questions about the built-in plugins that ship with Indigo. Note: there are also a growing number of 3rd Party Plugins available. See the 3rd Party Plugin Forum (or other forum as appropriate) for support for those.

Questions and comments about the Indigo Server. You can also post here if you're unclear which other forum to post to.

Ask questions about the Mac client app here if you don't see a better option. This might include questions about user interface items, menu locations, app crashes, etc. So in the process of using the client if you find something that doesn't work then this is the place to ask.

Discussions of the Indigo Touch iOS App.

Discuss the Indigo Touch web app here. Questions should specifically be about the web app - questions about control pages in general should be addressed in that forum.

Discuss the Indigo Reflector service here. Indigo Reflectors allow Indigo Touch and other clients to securely connect back to your Indigo server from anywhere on the net, all without any router configuration. They are included in your Up-to-Date subscription.

These forums are where you can post questions and find answers about extending Indigo through the various technologies it supports: Python and AppleScript scripting, Plugin SDK, Client APIs, and other ways to extend Indigo.
