[ANSWERED] Vision Wireless Garage Door Detector ZG8101

Hi, just thought I'd let everyone know that I have tried this garage door sensor and it seems to be working well with Indigo. I have already submitted the info through the edit device info screen. The sensor shows up as a Binary Routing device and all it is, is actually a tilt sensor. The info is provided in the link below. Hope it helps!

Great -- thanks for posting the report. I had never seen that sensor before.

Same place as the link I posted. By the way, I'm in Australia, so you'd have to check availability if you're elsewhere.

Great to hear. I actually ordered one today (from uk site:http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-vision-garage-door-detector).

I was going to take the plunge and determine if it works - as great to hear that it's binary output is simply accepted as another device.

I get intermittent success with this device reporting status changes. It is only 5m or so away from a plug in power socket (AN157). Are there others experiencing such issues? perhaps going through the house external wall or the garage wall?

Same with me...it was good for a while but now its starting to play up. Sometimes it sits with activated even thought it hasn't! Took it off from the garage door and placed it next to the sensor for a few days for testing. It behaves erratically! Sometimes its shows it has been activated even though its lying flat on the table. Put in a new battery but no difference!

Looks like I had a faulty device. I've got a replacement now and it seems to be working good so far!

I returned the device, got a fibaro universal sensor, hooked up a float switch and a c. 1m piece of wood and have a reasonable alternative - plus I've put in a reed switch to detect if the smaller / foot door is open as well as attaching two temperature sensors (for both inside and outside of the garage). works a treat!

Hi, sorry to hijack your thread. I'm new to HA and looking to automate my garage door. Are you able to list what I need? I was going to get 1x Fibaro roller shutter plus the z-wave sensor for detecting if the door is open / not open, is that all I need?

I have got a roller shutter garage door and use a Roller Shutter Door Contact wired into a Fibaro Universal Door & Window Sensor.

It seems to work well :)
