Honeywell WiFi thermostat Plugin

Post by farberm »

This is the final plug-in not updated in my system to python 3.

Is there any hope that this can be updated. I know that there were some NDA issues that were required for the original plugin.....

Hate to abandon Indigo just for this.....It appears that other platforms have figured out how to integrate Honeywell into their systems?

Thanks in advance for all your support and a generally great product and experience.

No, it's not possible for the existing plugin to be updated. The source code is unavailable.

It's possible a new plugin could be written, but you'd have to find a motivated developer. No, don't look at me.

I looks like Home Assistant supports it: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/evohome/

So you could set up an HA instance somewhere and use the HAA plugin to import that device into Indigo.

FWIW, I have a Z-Wave Honeywell T-stat what works perfectly well without the Honeywell plugin. When I upgraded to my current one, I was on the looking for a model that did NOT require someones cloud to work.
