Indigo Mac Client randomly stops -Server status Disconnected

Post by tornado »

Hi

Every couple/few days I check my Mac Mini (M1 2020 Mac, running Ventura 13.5.1, running Indigo 2022.2) and I see this message

My next step is to hit Start Local Server (which is weird because it is actually still running - ie, if I try to control something from http or the iOS app it still works).

So I hit Start Local Server and I see this
"stop the server"
"stop the server"

From here ^ how do I get my Indigo Mac UI back up?

Because what I do currently is hit "Stop Server" then wait for it to stop, then I hit Start Server and my UI comes back. It seems like there is some sort of disconnect from the Indigo Mac App and the server process here.

Thanks for any insight.

Just quit the client when you're not using it.

Or if you get that message, quit the client and restart it. As you say, the server is still running.

In most cases, you can also select "Connect to Remote Server" and then enter either 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' (the most common loopback addresses) and it should reconnect to the running Indigo server.

I agree with Joe that the best practice would be to quit the client when you're not using it.

On the other hand, I do think that dialog needs some revision. The client does some funky things when you quit with that dialog showing (not connected to a server). It reconnects or restarts the local server when the client is restarted, which I don't think is always appropriate.
