Has anybody been able to use the newer DSC Neo models/touchscreen panel with Indigo?

DSC neo uses a different protocol and is not compatible with Envisalink, nor can the DSC plugin be used for this.

The EnvisaLink 4 is a powerful TCP-IP based bus-level interface to DSC PowerSeries* panels and Honeywell Vista* panels.

The Indigo DSC plugin works with DSC PowerSeries* panels, like the DSC PC1864. It does not work with the Honeywell panels.

that sounds good; the 1864 panel has a touch panel that can be used with it; PowerSeries TouchScreen Security Interface
PTK5507; i think i found the one.

Any particular reason why you want a touch panel?

Not necessarily. Just figured it would look nicer and be easier to use. But really and truly just want a good security system that integrates easily with indigo

Well the 1864 system is pretty damn good and it’s integration with indigo is top notch. I’d avoid the touch panels.. they look nice but physical key buttons do work better.. but then I guess it depends on how often you’re using it!

Touchscreens are good for communal areas (your entry point) and look great. However...

We know that if something happens and you need to access a system quickly (silence an activation, locate the area of an intrusion, etc), then navigating touchscreen menus of all forms can be problematic. If someone is stressed, coordination tends to go out the window, and it is very easy to go into wrong screens by tapping the screen too many times (wrong code entered or options). In such cases, a conventional keypad with rubber keys offers better performance.

Defiantly a conventional keypad for sleeping areas!

The PK5500/RFK5500 keypad looks nice in entrances with the glass finish of the screen/pad flap. :D

Thank you! i hadn't thought about that aspect in an emergency situation. I was still debating what alarm company to use that i would be able to pair with indigo, but it think dsc is it, w a non touch screen panel.
