Re: Indigo controllable power strip

Can you put a ZWave Watcher on the device and tell me what outgoing request is for the main device and the endpoints - the command lengths (on my Greenwave) don’t match the Zwave docs so I don’t know exactly what’s being sent.

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

Is this what you wanted? I did the plugin request all, then the native UI update for the base strip and one outlet.

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

Ah whoops, I've forgotten to de-hex one of the hex values.

I'll sort in a moment.

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

Sorry, I broke my PC this evening so had to sort that out - couldn't get at my windows server, which contains my plugins for a start!

Now fixed, and also fixed problem accessing mac's folders from my PC which was hindering plugin development.

I'm contacting Matt off forum because I think there's a bug (or more probably, a not-yet-implemented situation) in how Indigo is handling sending commands to endpoints, so it will be a day or so before I can post further.

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

v1.0.9 published.

http://www.oakworthmethodists.org/_Indi ... Plugin.zip

Both Actions should now work for requesting levels (total and individual).

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

Hooray!

Ross, when your new one comes, can you test whether the totalrep gets updated when individual socket reports arrive, or only if you request it?

What are both your thoughts - should I just keep one total state and calculate it, or never calculate it and only use reported values?

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

New one should arrive tomorrow so I'll test it if work doesn't get in the way...

The strip natively provides the total consumption so I wouldn't stress too much having the plugin calculate it. Just having access to each socket's current and cumulative numbers is perfect for me, since I want to chart two different ways.

On my servers they barely change so I just monitor how much they contribute to the punch in the kidneys that my power bill brings.

On the new strip, it will be connected to some devices that power on and off when I'm home, and others that are standby/on states so I'm going to chart usage graphs showing how much they contribute to energy consumption by day, week, month and year.

If we get the current draw in watts and the total-since-last-reset in kWh for each socket...perfect.

Will update tomorrow when I get a chance to add it in and use it.

Re: Indigo controllable power strip

Peter-

When I try to install the 1.0.9 plugin it gives an error:
There is a problem with this plugin. If this error persists, contact the plugin developer.

log has:
Code: Select all
Error                           plugin "" is missing file: Contents/Info.plist

Just added the new strip and about to start testing it.
