You can connect your phone/ iPad through an ethernet cable to the network. It is REALLY fast especially latency is small.
When going through Wifi sometimes things are sluggish, but with this connector not.

Looks like a product I want! Can you charge your iPhone/iPad when it's connected?

That's awesome, too bad they didn't include PoE support too! I'd like something like this for Android devices too, but I don't think many have Ethernet support compiled in these days.

Not unless it's PoE, even then it would be a VERY slow charge.

Re: connect iPad/iphone directly to ethernet

Does it support charging using a PoE connection?
In that case it's good enough for me as long as it can keep up with me using it.
I have an iPad mounted to the wall in my kitchen, it always on to show my control page.
In this case it would be great to have a solid connection with ethernet and PoE.
This would also open possibilities for more iPads throughout the house where there is no power.
An ethernet cable can always be arranged :-)

Actually just talked to them. They are planning to add a cable splitter ... solution to it

They stated that the Poe converter is too big and does not fit into the small box.

Re: connect iPad/iphone directly to ethernet

Speaking of cable splitter Lightning cables, does anyone know of a generic one? I have a thermal camera that attaches to the lightning port on my IPhone, but it drinks power and if I could put it on an extension and feed it from a battery pack it would surely help...
