Intesis Home to control the air conditioner

Hi,

Do you know this device? https://www.intesishome.com/

With this device you can manage your air conditioner from any place using the web o mobile App.

This device mimics the remote control, infrared sending machine air conditioning signals. connecting to the wireless network of our house and after register on their website, it allows us to access it from anywhere.

It would be great to include these features in our home automation system.

This service has an API that could be used to develop a plugin.

Thanks

Ooh, excellent.

Works with IFTTT as well until someone can write a plugin for it.

The API is a real positive. I have already enquired about where to buy.

Thanks.

Has anyone got one of these? I'm about to order one I think as it's one of the few options that will work with my aircon unit I'd been super keen if someone wrote a plugin :)

I have three. They work well. Any plugin will have to wait for the user level API to be released, supposedly this month. The full API is not available to individual users.

Does anyone know where to purchase an Intesis home unit? I'm in the US. Their web site doesn't show any resellers. They have published an API however.

Re: Intesis Home to control the air conditioner

I've not seen one to my knowledge.

Unfortunately it uses oAuth for authentication which I'm not sure any developers have tackled on any plugins yet; it's not ideal for the way indigo plugins are coded by developers and shared for install by end users.

Not saying it's not doable but I don't know, without help from Jay/Matt, how they'd deal with that first step.

There's a Python library on GitHub for controlling this device, so it should be possible to make a plugin.

Interesting... thanks! Going to have to see what I can do with this.

Cheers,

Ah, they're not using the published public API (which requires oAuth) - they've hacked the private API used by their own apps.

No reason why that library wouldn't work - but be aware they might change the API at any time and render it broken, which you won't know about until it happens as you're not using the published API.

Not a show stopper. But, dealing with the py3.0 code means either some kind of wrapper, or a rewrite of the code.

Re: Intesis Home to control the air conditioner

I've just bought my second unit, so would be keen for a plugin. Sadly I'm not that good with python.
