Mac system plugin turning on/off continuosly

Hi,
I am trying to implement a volume device using mac system plugin 2.01. The volume I want to use is a shared volume on a Synology 412. In the Indigo event log the device primarily shows off, and continuously switiching off/on at shorts intervals. It is actually mounted and working in the finder. What can I be doing wrong? Thanks,

Re: Mac system plugin turning on/off continuosly

Hi,

Can you set the plugin in debug mode "4", wait a little, and send me the resulting log ?
(You can then return to the standard logging mode.)

I will analyse the log to understand what is going on.

Regards,

HI Philippe,

Thanks for your assistance. I set the debug mode to 4, created a volume device called Respaldos (it is shared volume from a Synology NAS), and waited a little. Here is the log:

Were you ever able to resolve this? I'm noticing a similar behavior with my Airport Disk. It'll flip to on very briefly before switching back to off.

Re: Mac system plugin turning on/off continuosly

So, I was able to poke around a bit to see what's going on here. Forgive me in advance, I'm not a developer. However, I can see that the plugin uses Disk Utility to identify if a device is connected after first checking the "/Volumes" folder. So, what's happening, at least for me with a Apple Time Capsule is that the plugin will see the volume in the Volumes folder. However, it then proceeds to check with Disk Utility and since the NAS doesn't show up in Disk Utility like a typical USB drive it then assumes that the volume is not mounted and toggles off. I was able to play around a bit and get it to recognize my Time Capsule as connected. However, I broke a bunch of other things in the process and am not knowledgable enough to fix it.

Perhaps a future update will allow for detection of connected NAS devices.

Re: Mac system plugin turning on/off continuosly

Thanks Adam for your explanation. It seems to me (from the log, I'm not a developer also) a likely one. It's also a pity we haven't got an update for so long, since the plugin is useful.
