Turning our Home into a Smart Home

Thanks to Indigo and this excellent forum I'm well on the way to make our home smarter. I was going to say smarter and cheaper but that would be kind of an oxymoron but it certainly is fun... when it all works

I'm in the process of automating the heck out of my home as well. I read your blog, and the status display you have created looks pretty cool.

Any chance of sharing that cool tool?

Yes, re the sharing but I have to make it somewhat generic first. At the moment changes are done to the program itself and recompiled. Once I have a better handle on what I want I'll add a preferences section for external configuration.

In the meantime I'm hoping that a Python/MySQL expert will add a device status table to the MySQL DB in addition to the excellent history ones Matt has done.
