I have just made the official release 2.09 - there is no change to the code, I have just elevated it from pre-Release to Release. Thanks for the prompt Jay. :)

Hey guys - this thread has pretty much stopped being useful. I've already split some of the posts into a new topic Plugins and Github over in the plugin development forum. I don't believe there's much new to discuss given the OPs post and all the discussion that happened afterwards. I'm going to lock this topic, so start a new one with the specifics of your request if you need to.
