U.K. Locks

I have just had this Yale lock fitted.

http://www.vesternet.com/yale-smart-liv ... -lock-2072

You can fit various modules such as the z-wave module, I assume this won't work with indigo ?

Yale asked me what z-wave software I use as they are interested in working with companies to incorporate their locks into as many systems as possible, I mentioned the problems of locks within indigo but they didn't seem to think it would be a problem.

Any thoughts on this ?

Re: U.K. Locks

Z-Wave locks are (supposed) to all be implemented the same way, so our Z-Wave Lock topic applies to this one as well. Hopefully, we'll have some better news with Indigo 7.

Re: U.K. Locks

Col, the manual for this seems to suggest you still need to pull the handle up to lock properly, is that correct?

Re: U.K. Locks

Yes that is correct, it will lock the latch automatically but as with these kind of locks you have to pull the handle up to engage the multi point levers.

You can set a 24 hour code via the lock keypad, I am wondering if it will be possible to do this with the z-wave module using indigo (if they can get locks into indigo that is)

Re: U.K. Locks

Bummer, i was hoping it had a motor to latch the multipoint lock part. Oh well, back to the drawing board i guess. :(

Re: U.K. Locks

There is one somewhere on here (not Zwave, but powered multipoint lock).

Durosity was in that thread, but you may not have been.

Yeah, there's a wired 12v one that I linked to a while ago, I think it was about £450.. But then you'd also have to run wires for it, and have some kind of secure relay to action it. I was thinking the PGMs on my alarm.

We're looking at basic lock support if we can make it happen. We'll look at adding advanced features after that.

Re: U.K. Locks

It does occur to me that this might still be suitable. So long is no actual physical key is needed, i could still have one, get it to auto lock when the handle is pushed up, then disengage the lock when the pin is entered / when indigo is told to unlock the door (when/if it supports it). I don't suppose at some point you could create a video of its functionality could you? So we can actually see it in action? (Also remember to include your pin codes and exact GPS coordinates ;)
