right click on device/ state

I would like to see a function that allows to launch a script / send a message to a plugin when doing a right click on a device/state.

A great application would be: right click on a device / temperature state and create/start a plot for that device/state without going through 10 steps / clicks.

Once the right click would work I could add this easily to the INDIGOplotD plugin .. just need to send an action message to the plugin with the proper parameters -- the action already exists.

Re: right click on device/ state

Am I right in thinking this already exists in menu-bar format?

I'm sure you can add custom action menu items to the menu, so it should be trivial (he says!) to extend it to right-click.

Re: right click on device/ state

A menu/action it is not correlated/linked to any device- it is linked to the plugin.
As soon as you move the mouse away from the device there is no info about that device available any more.. At least that's how I understand it.

What is missing is to give the plugin a hint which one do you want to do. Everything else is then "easy" / .. actually exists already in INDIGOplotD.

How would I do that? Any pointers will be appreciated. Thanks!

This is directed at those who code plugins--that is, to add actions to the menu associated with the individual plugin. There is no way to add to the right-click menu within a plugin that I'm aware of.

A right click on a state initiating a script would be really cool. Would open up all kind of new options. +++++10 from me.

Yes, I think that will be useful too.

Re: right click on device/ state

One way I could imagine to implement it would be to open the action window and you can pick the plugin and action from the plugin and indigo sends the device#/state to the plugin action.
