"Locked" Switches for important devices

I have some (power monitoring) relays for important devices I don't want switching off - e.g. Fridge, and my iMac that's running Indigo. I don't want to ever switch them off, but I do have them connected to a relay, just for power monitoring.

I would be nice if there was an option to LOCK a device switch so it cannot be switched off by accident.

It's not exactly a lock, but you could set a trigger to turn it on if it ever gets turned off. You could also get it to send you a message/email to alert you someone tried to turn it off.

Computer says no.

I feel that this is a real hole in the market. We need a plug in Z-Wave device that measures energy usage but is not a switch.

I'm just too paranoid to plug my sump pump into anything that could possibly turn it off.

I came here to drink milk and kick ass....and I've just finished my milk.

Doesn't the Insteon iMeter Solo only measure power without switching it? I don't have any but have been considering getting a few for the reasons mentioned.

For my DSC alarm and Mac running Indigo I used external sockets, not to stay dry but because they have covers with latches so can't be accidentally switched off. Probably not what you're after but just saying.

If you're using INSTEON, then as roussell mentions the iMeter is what you want - monitoring but no control. Don't know of any Z-Wave alternative though.
