[ANSWERED]Sending Trigger command "Light On" toggles it OFF

An Indigo motion based trigger sends two commands to provide low level of light if someone enters kitchen late at night. (1) Turns on an Insteon light switch that controls the load to socket with Hue bulb installed, (2) (after 1 second delay) sets Hue bulb's brightness to 15%. The first action is showing unexpected results by toggling the switch in stead of turning it On. The unexpected activity is confirmed in the Insteon log. .

The first time the trigger executes, it functions properly but the second time it triggers, Indigo sends an Off command to the Insteon switch. Here's the log when I execute the trigger twice in a row:

Trigger Kitchen lights on low if motion dark
Sent INSTEON "Kitchen Sink" on to 100
Schedule Kitchen lights on low if motion dark (delayed action)
Sent Hue Lights "HUE Kitchen Sink" on to 15 at ramp rate 0.0 sec.
Trigger Kitchen lights on low if motion dark
Sent INSTEON "Kitchen Sink" on to 0
Schedule Kitchen lights on low if motion dark (delayed action)
Sent Hue Lights "HUE Kitchen Sink" on to 15 at ramp rate 0.0 sec.

The Indigo trigger is not set to "toggle" but to "turn on." Below are screen shots. The is no "off" trigger that turns off this light if the motion sensor turns off, so this seems to happen if the motion sensor changes from on to off and back to on, sending the Trigger's Insteon ON command to a switch that is already On.

Re: Sending Trigger command of "Light On" toggles it OFF

Simplify you actions by removing the hue action and just have it turn on. Does that make any difference? What kind of Insteon device is it?

Thank You Jay,

Per your instruction, I removed the Hue action, but the Switchlinc Dimmer (dual band) (and log) still show Toggling even though the trigger action only sends "On."

Here's the log, when I pressed "Execute Actions Now" four times in a row, after removing the Hue Action.
Code: Select all
Trigger                         Kitchen lights on low if motion dark copy
Sent INSTEON                    "Kitchen Sink" on to 0
Trigger                         Kitchen lights on low if motion dark copy
Sent INSTEON                    "Kitchen Sink" on to 100
Trigger                         Kitchen lights on low if motion dark copy
Sent INSTEON                    "Kitchen Sink" on to 0
Trigger                         Kitchen lights on low if motion dark copy
Sent INSTEON                    "Kitchen Sink" on to 100

I believe Indigo might think that the module has a default ON level of 0%. So open the settings dialog for that device, set the default on level to whatever you want (> 0), and press the button to program it into the module. Does that then fix the problem?

You are correct, the default level was 0.

As a side note, I noticed several of my Insteon devices had 0 default levels and long ramp rates after the I7 upgrade. Will go through the list and check for others to avoid similarly embarrassing support questions on the forum.

Thanks.
