Sleep Timer Prompt

I have a fan connected to an Insteon ICON Appliance module.
I have a very simple Action Group which turns the fan off after two hours.

Is there a way Indigo Touch would prompt me to enter a value in minutes or hours that would then set the duration for when the fan would turn off?

So for example, sometimes I want to run the fan for an hour and then have it turn off.
Sometimes, I might want to run the fan for three hours, and then turn off.

I would like to be prompted for the duration of the "sleep timer".

Is this possible?

I don't believe what you describe is directly possible, but you can get pretty close by creating a simple control page with a few of your standard options as buttons. Those buttons could then set the initial start time of the timer and kick it off. I haven't done the setting of the time myself, but see this Wiki page which has a scripting example to do it:

Could you describe what you mean by "prompted"?

Why you don't use a variable? In your case, before the action, change you variable (e.g. myVarTimer [min]) with Indigo Touch and start you fan. You should adjust you action to take account of the variable to setup a timer (e.g. 'Set Timer Start Value' timer action') as example!

What I mean by "prompt" is, after I push a button/command called "Fan Sleep", Indigo would display a field for me to enter hours or minutes (or a slider like a dimmer control to set the hours/minutes).

The value entered in the "prompt" would be then be used as a timer.

After the time passed (based by the value entered in the prompt), Indigo would send an OFF command to the fan.

I like your name!

OK. I figured out that I had to enable the Timers and Pesters plugin.
I used the wiki article you referred to create a new "device" using the Timers and Pesters plugin.

But after that I am uncertain how I call this timer from Indigo.
Do I call it in a Trigger? an Action Group? Do I have to use a Control Page?

The wiki article you referred to says:
"To operate/control the timer, you use the following actions (also available interactively from the plugin's submenu):"

But I don't see the plugin's submenu anywhere in the interface...

I'm just not sure what to do next to utilize this timer device I created...
