Virtual "Switch" / status device

Hi there.

Wondered if this was possible and wanted some guidance.

I wanted to create a virtual device that I could trigger with my wave button, so that if I press a button the virtual device would report as "on" and then if I pressed the button again it would toggle to "off".

I then want toe be able to expose this device so that I can run automations off of it.

Any ideas?

What's a "wave button"?

apologies...I didn't get a notification that someone had responded. I meant a z-wave button.

Further, I have the Tesla Plugin working well now and I wanted to expose the charge port door status as a device. indigo is able to query the charge port door status.

My workflow would be:

Z-Wave1 button is pressed and the trigger runs in Indigo to open the charge port - I want the "Charge port status" device to read from the plugin as open and mark as "On"
Z-Wave2 button is pressed and the trigger runs in Indigo to close the charge port - I want the "Charge port status" device to read from the plugin as close and mark as "Off"

How would I go about creating this virtual status switch?

The new/refreshed Adapters plugin that’s in beta at the moment will do that.

Point it at the Charge_Port status state in my Tesla plugin and it’ll show as a Device.
