Fibaro dimmer send raw packet

Hi All,

I would like to start a new calibration on a fibaro dimmer 2.

Can someone point me in the right direction for sending this command via the send raw packet data tool?

It's parameter 13 --> set it to 1

Thanks!

Regards

Re: Fibaro dimmer send raw packet

You don’t need to send raw command for this.

Go to Interfaces > Zwave > modify configuration parameter.

I'm getting this error when reading the value (see attached)

Can you try reading parameter 1 for example?

Normally “...or the device may be asleep...” is absolutely the problem here, but that rarely applies to powered/wired devices - they don’t normally sleep!

Re: Fibaro dimmer send raw packet

It looks like you included that module with encryption enabled. Since it is a dimmer I highly recommend not using encryption since it: increases the number of commands (by a lot), increases odds of congestion and collisions, and there tend to be more firmware bugs (in the module) hit when using encryption.

I don't know that is related to the problem setting parameter 13 to 1, but it is possible that it is.

To include it without encryption you have to exclude it, then re-include it (without encryption), then resync it. You do not need to create a new Indigo device – just use the existing one.

Hi Matt,

I’ll try that. When do we need to use encryption then?

Z-Wave Locks always require it (so definitely include those with encryption enabled). Other than that, I would only include it in cases where you feel it is important to have the extra security of encryption. Maybe door/window sensors, motion sensors, and garage door controllers.

Re: Fibaro dimmer send raw packet

Solution worked! (Re-sync the device without encryption)
