Suggestions for Asset Tracking

I want to know when bicycles and other small items enter and exit our house. I was thinking this could be done with Bluetooth tags, but most of them don't really seem to be up for the task. Any suggestions that work well with Indigo?

That would seem to be about the best method available that's both small and unobtrusive. Putting a battery operated gizmo on those things (like a Arduino or Raspberry Pi) in order to use WiFi wouldn't really be optimal. I use the BT tags on a couple minor things and it works for my needs.

Me too.
have iBeacons on many things and with 10 rPis I know the location where they are.
My preferred iBeacon is xy-beacon right now.

Can you elaborate a bit on rPis and how you connect to Indigo with them?

iautomate.com has a full line of long range RFID devices and has created a plugin for indigo. I use to track if the trash can has been moved to the street c(comparing signal strength), Watch some art in front yard for theft. I also use for tracking car presence. They make keyfobs with remote buttons. I have been waiting for one of the key fobs to test for a while. Peter is the contact on the forum here.
