Virtual Device for shade

Hi,

What's the best way to create a virtual device that has a state of open or closed instead of on/off? I would like to make one for my shade unit but right now I'm stuck with this.

Create a trigger that tracks device state change and updates a variable with open / closed. Then put the variable status in your control page rather than the device state.
