[ANSWERED]Device Names Not Updating in Event Log

After creating a new device by clicking 'Duplicate Device' (specifically for an alarm interface - ad2usb)
I go and set new zone and wireless codes and change the device name.

Everything looks fine and updated on the main device page, but in the event log, I get the old device names.

I've tried changing the device names several times and they don't update.

Restarting the server does resolve this, but maybe someone should look at how/when the eventlog updates it's device name mappings?

Can you post the event log lines that show the incorrect device name after you've changed it?

It's actually very easy to reproduce -- name changes for AD2USB protocol devices just aren't propagating to the Event log..

From the event log:
2014-03-19 22:10:10 AD2USB Alarm Interface Zone: 09 - Alarm Zone 09 - Basement Motion state changed to: (Clear)

Event log device name: "Alarm Zone 09 - Basement Motion"

Actual current name: "Alarm Zone 09 - Basement Motion - 0508176"

I can make any change to the name -- rename it to 'blah blah', and it stays with the old name..

(restarting server fixes)

I'm not that familiar with the AD2USB plugin, but is there UI for a device address you need to change? If that wasn't unique between the original and duplicate, then I could see the plugin just finding the first match. Also try restarting the plugin. It might be a locally cached lookup that just needs to be rebuilt.

Yeah - that log line is coming from the plugin (not from Indigo) so the plugin is likely caching the name somewhere and not updating it when it gets notification of the change from the server.
