Re: Since installing 2022.1

Not sure why they are showing up in the dock, but those are the processes that run plugins.

Re: Since installing 2022.1

Right. I’m reporting the odd behavior of them showing up in the dock, though. And I have WAY more pluginhosts running than that, but I never see more than three in the dock.

Re: Since installing 2022.1

This is some problem with the latest MAC OS - I have seen that on my wife;s mac it was happening with a different program (she does not even have indigo on that machine) - she is running the most current MAC OS on her M1 laptop

Re: Since installing 2022.1

I'm up to date (12.5.1) on my MacBook Pro with an M1 and I don't see it. I wonder if there's some hidden macOS setting that instructs the dock to show background processes in the dock. Might be worth an internet search.

Re: Since installing 2022.1

It happens to me on a rare occasion; I've always believed it to be a macOS issue.

Re: Since installing 2022.1

Never happened to me before I moved to this new Mac and 2022.1

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/679 ... -dock-icon looks promising, but I'm missing something about the command, or else the NSApplicationActivationPolicy is a blanket, system wide setting. And as I delve deeper, it seems NSApplicationActivationPolicy would be changing things way above my pay grade.

I just noticed the following when I opened the folder. Is this normal?

Re: Since installing 2022.1

This, by the way, is still happening to me, though less often. Suddenly with the last OS update, the pluginhosts have a new icon in the dock.

But this might be a hint of what's going on. When I quit one of them from the dock, I got this in the log:

Code: Select all
Error                           embedded script executor process unexpectedly terminated (automatically restarting)
   Embedded script executor host1 started

Re: Since installing 2022.1

As I said above, standard macOS configurations don't show background (non-ui) processes in the dock, so maybe there's a setting somewhere that turns that on.

Not sure what's going on with those icons/lack of icons, but I do see that on my development Mac and just assumed that's because the Finder isn't keeping up with multiple builds, etc.

The error you posted is what happens when an embedded script times out, but the host process isn't running. You might check your Crash Reports (in the Console App) to see if you see any IndigoPluginHost3 crashes and if so then attach to an email to us (support@indigodomo.com) with a link to this thread and we'll see if we can figure out what caused it.

Re: Since installing 2022.1

I'm pretty sure what caused it was me force quitting it from the dock.

Here's the real oddity. Displays one way in the dock, and another in finder:

Weird. That first one is showing the Matplotlib logo.

Re: Since installing 2022.1

There was a time I used the Matplot plugin for Indigo, but I've since moved to Grafana and last used Matplot on an entirely different computer that ran Indigo.

I think you have some weird systemic macOS issues...

Re: Since installing 2022.1

All I can say there is that this is a pretty vanilla install, and I did a clean Indigo install when I got this M1.

Going to install Sonoma today and see how that changes things.

Double the fun: these are BOTH ided as "IndigoPluginHost3"

Re: Since installing 2022.1

There should be several: each Indigo plugin (including several that are built-in) runs it it's own IndigoPluginHost3 process - that's how we sandbox plugins so they have less of a chance to hang up the server.
