Upgrade directly from 4.x to 7.x

I'm looking to upgrade directly from 4.x to 7.x. My system is currently running 10.7.5.

I have really no intention of looking backward. That is, I want to upgrade and move forward, and I will have no intention of downgrading and going back to 4.x. It's been over 6 years, and it's time.

Are there any "gotchas" of which I should beware?

Also, I've tried to find upgrade instructions and I haven't been able to find anything... bringing me to the forum to ask. Is it as simple as running the installer and letting it do its thing?

Finally, I do plan to upgrade my OS (finally) to most likely 10.11. Are there any particulars here of which I should be aware?

Best,
Mike

You'll find upgrade instructions in the Getting Started Guide for Indigo 7.
