Hi All,

I'm looking at purchasing the FI8910W. Can anyone confirm that this model works with the plugin? The link provided, https://github.com/discgolfer1138/indigo-foscam, only mentions that the 9000-aren't supported.

If so, can you recommend the camera... or not?

Thanks

Thanks captcurrent. Very helpful. Security Spy looks good but not sure if I need it just yet as this will be my first camera. . Have you also tested the F18910W with the Foscam Plugin?

I have been using the FOSCAM plugin for a F18910W camera for about 6 months. Works with no issues.

Is there a plan to support HD cameras?

I have just purchased a Foscam FI9831W HD Wireless IP Camera and got hold of the Foscam IPCamera CGI User Guide so that I can investigate how to operate it via Indigo. :)

All,
I downloaded the v1.0.3 plugin and installed it into Indigo just fine , but where's the documentation for configuration and use?
Under Edit Device Settings/Hostname , I entered the IP address of the camera . Do I need a TCP port, or path to a CGI script?

And after this is all configured properly, can I actually access the live MPG feed with Indigo Touch?
If I can't access mpg video, what exactly can I access, and how? ...

thanks in advance

I'm also having problems getting a response out of this plug in. I've tried addressing the cameras by :
http//ip.ip.ip.ip
http://ip.ip.ip.ip/snapshot.cgi?
http://ip.ip.ip.ip/snapshot.cgi?user=admin&pwd=Password

None of these seem to work.

My camera is the Insteon rebrand of a supported Foscam. I can control them from a browser but not via Indigo.

The FOSCAM Controller plugin in is just for the CONTROL of the camera interfacing to Indigo. See the About Document what it controls.
https://github.com/discgolfer1138/indigo-foscam
It doesn't do the video piece. I purchased the Security Spy application and use the Cynical Security Spy plugin also for this function.

Hope this helps?

I'm with scs... I can't figure out what I'm supposed to enter in the Configuration dialog. I looked around but could not find any instructions on what to put in the Host or Port settings. I'm assuming that I'll use the Name and Password that I log into the camera app with, but haven't a clue about the other two.

It has been a long time since I initially set up the Foscam Controller plugin. This is the only configuration window I see:

Is this what you are asking about?

Or this?

Edit: Added second config window

Just thought I'd post back my experience with this plugin as I finally purchased a FI8910W. Thanks to captcurrent and cuhouse for your comments.

I'm really happy with it and the $80 camera. I only want/need one camera in the house for when we go away so it's a simple setup. The camera is centrally located so when motion detectors in different locations are activated the plugin pans the camera to that location and emails a picture (and moves back to position).

I have also configured an Indigo trigger to activate/deactivate the internal camera "alarm" function when I arm/disarm my house alarm. It was easy to set up and works well.

Great plugin, discgolfer1138, thanks for sharing it.

This really highlights the awesomeness of Indigo being able to successfully integrate very different technologies together.... IMHO.

OK, finally found both of those windows. I guess the second one is to allow sending of emails, right?

I'll be fiddling with it a bit more this evening.

I'm still having a big problem trying to get my Foscam FI8918 camera to work with Indigo. I installed the plugin and configured it. I set a trigger action for a motion detector changing state to send a command to turn off the IR illumination on the camera. Here's the error message I get:

Any ideas on what could be going wrong?
