1) Did you reboot after you installed the upgrade to 4.1.3?
Yes.
2) You mention 64bit - are you booting Snow Leopard into 64bit mode or running Snow Leopard Server?
This is my first Mac I have to confess that I'm a complete neophyte with Macs and OSX (I'm a Unix/Linux guy). It's the default boot, which is apparently 32 bit:
% uname -a
Darwin XXXXX-XXXXX-Mac-Pro.local 10.2.0 Darwin Kernel Version 10.2.0: Tue Nov 3 23:08:29 PST 2009; root:xnu-1486.2.11~3/RELEASE_I386 i386
I would have assumed that this box would default to 64bit. Guess not. Is that important?
3) When you look in System Profiler, what shows up there with regards to the 2414?
SmartHome PowerLinc USB E:
Product ID: 0x0004
Vendor ID: 0x10bf
Version: 4.00
Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: SmartHome
Location ID: 0x1a200000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 500
4) What exactly is the wording when you say "A little popup appears a few seconds after this begins saying that it's installing IndigoApp"?
Writing IndigoApp program to Powerlinc interface. This will take a couple of minutes, but only needs to be written once. After a bunch of red error messages about "failure response" and "timeout", the program gives up with another popup which says
Failed to establish connection with interface.
Make sure you have run the complete Indigo installer included in the download (or CD-ROM) and that the correct interface settings are chosen in the Preferences dialog.
5) Have you tried any of this with VMWare turned off?
Yes. No difference.
6) Is the 2414 plugged into the same outlet it was plugged into when it worked under windows?
Yes, but would that matter? It seems like the problem is that Indigo can't talk to the controller over the USB.
