Difficulties with Keypad

Having some recent difficulty with a keypad. I've linked several buttons to specific Insteon Lamplinc modules. This communication happens perfectly. The problem is that Indigo is not recognizing the button push or the lamplinc change. I started with a resync of the keypad module

PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 01, data 03 1F 01
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 02, data FE 1C 02
PowerLinc Linking - . changing: link for group 2 to have retry count of 3
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 03, data 03 1F 03
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 04, data 03 1F 04
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 05, data 03 1F 05
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 06, data 03 1F 06
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 07, data 03 1F 07
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 13.AC.48, flags E2, group 08, data 03 1F 08
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to controller 13.AC.48, flags A2, group 06, data FF 1F 06
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to controller 13.AC.48, flags A2, group 0D, data FF 1F 04
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to controller 13.AC.48, flags A2, group 1A, data FF 1F 02
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to controller 13.AC.48, flags A2, group 1B, data FF 1F 01
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to controller 13.AC.48, flags A2, group 14, data FF 1F 05
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 14.53.36, flags E2, group 01, data 03 1F 01
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 18.82.C8, flags E2, group 02, data 03 1F 02
PowerLinc Linking - . . . read: INSTEON dev link to responder 04.B7.FE, flags E2, group 06, data 03 1F 06

after group 02 was "changing: link for group 2 to have retry count of 3", the data for that link became 03 1C 02 and the button press for ONLY button 2 began to be recognized by Indigo. None of the other buttons are recognized.

I can't find a reference for what the data bytes mean and why that one button has a 1C byte code set, but the others are 1F. Have to believe that setting is why the one button works and the others don't... Any help or point to a reference for data bytes and how they might be adjusted?

Thanks,

Rick

Re: Difficulties with Keypad

Continued fiddling suggests the Powerlinc had lost some of its data. I suspect in a brown-out as we've been having more of those lately. A "Reset PowerLinc and Sync links" didn't quite fix the problem. A subsequent "Start Sync All Links" seems to have done the trick.

PS, the only reference I could find suggests that the last two bits of data from a KeypadLink is not even used, therefore there wouldn't be a difference between 1F and 1C.

Re: Difficulties with Keypad

It might have the brown out that corrupted the links, or the flash memory in the KeypadLinc might be starting to go bad. Keep and eye on it and if the problem continues to occur (needing a resync to fix), then I'd suggest getting the module swapped out.
