Dead links - uneditable/uneraseable links - option key??

Okay, I've got some old links from insteon stuff that died/replaced.

I've read the other threads about making sure the links are persistent and then factory resetting the offending devices but that's not doing it for me.

I see several mentions of "hold down the option key when you open the link dialogue" but either I'm opening the wrong dialogue box or missing a step - or something!?! but it isn't working.

Can someone walk me through how to get rid of these old links?

Thanks,

Anthony

Re: Dead links - uneditable/uneraseable links - option key??

Okay, so here's what I've tried:

Factory reset the dimmer (pull air gap, push in till beeping stops, release).
Define and sync dimmer
Re-sync Links (not sure if this step is redundant?)

Then open manage links and the old (uneditable/uneraseable links are still there)

I've tried holding down the option key while clicking on "Manage Links" from within the "edit device" dialogue box - no love.

I've got a handful of these dead links. I've been able to clear a few but there are still some pesky ones that are holding on.

How can I manually delete them?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hold down the option key and select the Interfaces->INSTEON/X10 Power Line->Manage INSTEON Device Links menu item. Then select the device that you want to manage the links for.

What Jay said, but I wanted to note that if you did the factory reset then a resync and the links still show up that means that either the links were marked to be persistent in the link editor dialog (via the checkbox), or the factory reset didn't "take." My guess is the latter, as resetting INSTEON modules can be tricky. The LED pipe has to go from the out position to the depressed state in one fluid (fast) motion and held there for 10+ seconds. It can be tricky to get the timing/motion correct.
