Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

Hi

I bought a Qubino Flush 1D, and i installed it and everything looked OK, the temp sensor was working. But when i tried to open_close the relay it didn't physical do that. In indigo the status changed from open to closed, but the relay did not latch.

So i thought this was a faulty unit and i got it replaced. And now i have the same issue with the new one

I installed Z-Wave Watcher and i have som logs, if anyone can help me find anything weird

The sync

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

Hi

I did some experimenting by changing som parameters, and suddenly the temperature device disapeared during a sync and the device was like an "generic" device.

And then the relay started working and i got response from the device

But the temperature device was missing.

Then i did a new sync, and everthing was back as it was before, the temp was there and showing value and the relay stoped working.

I tried to replicate but couldent.

So it seems like the device are working but when using indigos "device" it stopes working

Anyone have any idea?

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

@Gusten:

1. I have 3-4 of those devices and they all work fine but I have no temp sensor connected to them.

2. I would FIRST try by EXCLUDING the device (while temp sensor is connected) and doing the exclusion from Indigo the "hard reset" way, i.e. keep the service button pressed MORE than 6 seconds (I usually keep it pressed 8-9 seconds). Then remove power supply from the device for at least 30 seconds.

3. While temp sensor is still connected, start INCLUSION mode (without security enabled in Indigo) and THEN enable power to the device. Auto-inclusion should finalise it self within 15-30 seconds from the power was enabled. If auto inclusion does not start then 1) the device was not properly excluded or 2) you could try to include it by pressing service button for at least 2 seconds but no more than max 6 seconds.

4. Device is now included WITH temp sensor into Indigo. Please do a "Write device details to the event log" and paste the results here.

Code: Select all
My device details for one of my ZMNHND devices are:
Indigo Z-Wave Version: 2.0.111
Node ID: 100
Model: Flush 1D Micro Relay (ZMNHND)
Model ID: 00020053
Manufacturer: Qubino
Manufacturer ID: 0159
Protocol Version: 4.05
Application Version: 1.02
Model Definition Version: 5
Library Type: 3
Class Name: Relay Power Switch
Class Hierarchy: 04 : 10 : 01
Command Class Base: 25
Command Versions: 20v1 25v1 86v1 27v1 8Ev1 70v1 72v1 73v1 59v1 5Av1 5Ev1 85v1
Encryption Status: Not Supported
Multi-Endpoint Types: - none -
Multi-Endpoint Classes: - none -
Multi-Instance Counts: - none -
Features: routing, beaming
Neighbors: 22, 23, 24
Associations: 1:[1] 2:[1] 3:[] 4:[] 5:[] 6:[1]
Config Values: 1:0 2:0 100:0 110:32536 120:5 30:1 63:0

Note though that I have no temp sensor connected.

5. If the relay still does not work, do a new exlusion the way I described above and remove power supply from the device THEN remove temp sensor.

6. Wait 30 seconds, enable inclusion mode in Indigo and then enable power back to the device and wait for auto-inclusion.

7. Device should now be included into Indigo WITHOUT temp sensor connected. Does it now work properly without temp sensor connected?

8. Print the device details again into a post here. This time the device details will be without temp sensor connected.

9. If it works ok, then exclude again (sorry but we need to figure out what is going on). Disconnect power, connect temp sensor, wait 30 seconds, enable inclusion mode in Indigo and connect power to the device again.

10. Wait for auto-inclusion (if it does not happen press service button 2-6 seconds).

11. Device should now be included with temp sensor. Does the relay work now?

I usually do these kind of tests with Qubino devices using 24VDC so I do not work to much and closely with lethal voltage levels like 230VAC....
Note though that if you use 24VDC then minus 24VDC goes into the Live Input while plus 24VDC goes into Neutral Input.

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

Hi,

Received a Qubino Flush 1D relay today with a temp sensor and I am having the same issue.
Inclusion and exclusion do work fine (more then once :) ) but I can only use the temp sensor or the relay switch.

Where you able to resolve this, hope so; using the temp sensor and the relay at the same time?

If not, I have included some information me trying to get the combination working. Hope this will help:

Inclusion results:

I think that when the temp sensor is connected there is no "relaySetLevel" send to the relay.

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

I have my last Qubino Flush 1D relay installed on my automatic fence controller so I have no remaining relays to test with a temp sensor.

However, I remember that it was VERY important to:

1. Do a full exclusion with factory reset of the parameters when the temp sensor is NOT connected. Do the exclusion to factory settings by these two methods:

if connected to 24VDC (my preferred method) then keep the service button pushed MORE than 6 seconds when controller is in exclusion mode

    or

if connected to 240VAC then you must press I1 five times within 3 seconds during the first 60 seconds when powering on the device

2. Disconnect the device from power and wait at least 30 seconds

3. Connect temp sensor to device

4. Put the controller into inclusion mode

5. Power on the device and it should auto-include within 30 seconds. Note that the auto-inclusion is only active 5 seconds after you power on the device so you must put the controller FIRST into inclusion mode and then you power on the device.

6. If auto-inclusion does not work then you can either

if connected to 24VDC (my preferred method) then keep the service button pushed MORE than 2 seconds BUT LESS than 6 seconds when controller is in exclusion mode

    or

if connected to 240VAC then you must press I1 three times within 3 seconds during the first 60 seconds when powering on the device

All above info found in the manual: https://www.vesternet.com/mwdownloads/download/link/id/1137/product/1477/z_wave_qubino_flush_1d_relay_plus_user_manual_v1_2.pdf
or https://products.z-wavealliance.org/ProductManual/File?folder=&filename=Manuals/1336/Qubino_Flush%201D%20Relay%20PLUS%20extended%20manual_eng_1.6.2.pdf on page 38 and 39.

The Qubino Flush 1D relay with temp sensor should now work properly.

I will order a Qubino Flush 1D soon for another project and I can test it with my temp sensor when the device has arrived.

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and I followed the procedure but I can not get it to work...........

For me it is strange that after inclusion with temp sensor the temp sensor is working and the relay is not.
The “on” sequence (first on in the above message) does not seem to activate the switch.
After removing the temp sensor and a “define and sync” the relay works and the “on” sequence is different (second on)

I am curious about your progress when you have a combination to test

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

Ok, I will order a Qubino Flush 1D relay during the week.

I tested with a normal Qubino Flush relay and the relay works fine when using the temp sensor.

I will hopefully be able to report back next weekend with my test results with the Flush 1D relay and a temp sensor connected.

Hi,

Would be great when you can get it work!
Hope for a positive result next weekend but no rush.

Your Event Log snippets for having Indigo Turn On the module are not showing any Z-Wave commands being sent to the module. I think when you copy/pasted you didn't include all the relevant lines. You need to include any lines that are before this line (as well as after):

Code: Select all
Z-Wave                          sent "095 - Relay" on

That is, that line is shown *after* the lower level debug lines show what was really sent to the module. I'd be interested in seeing logs that include the on/off commands being sent in both the working and not working case. I'd also like to see the re-sync of both cases (you only included one).

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

The firmware for these modules is really buggy and fickle to get working correctly. In this case after including the temperature sensor the module claims to want "endpoint encapsulation" used for controlling both the relay and the temperature sensor (without temperature sensor it doesn't use encapsulation). But in this case it is ignoring the commands Indigo is sending (which are endpoint encapsulated) to the relay. This is a firmware bug.

I believe on another forum thread we found the secret steps that make the module work. You need to turn on the Input 2 notifications checkbox in the settings dialog (which sets config parm 100 to 9). Note after doing that you have to do the ridiculous exclude, wait 30 seconds with no power connected, re-include, and re-sync dance yet again.

I thoroughly dislike some of these Qubino modules.

Re: Qubino Flush 1D Relay not working_

Hi Matt,

Thank you very much. That did it: turning on the Input 2 notifications checkbox :!:
Not something I would have thought of. And I agree that the way this has to be enabled is not the way it should be........

For now I am glad it is working. Thanks again!
