Add support for GE EZ Smart Motion Sensor (Model ZW6302)

Hi!

I just bought a GE EZ Smart Motion Sensor, gambling that it would work with Indigo. I can include in and get it to sync. It will report the battery level. It won't do anything else. Indigo is not able to get any motion sensing messages from the sensor, so at the moment, it is not particularly useful as a motion sensor. I chose this sensor because it was small (a cube about 1.5 inches square), battery powered, and inexpensive at just $28.

I did submit the info via the handy form that is available via the "Edit Device Settings" box. I'm running Indigo 7.1.1.

The device information from the log is also here:

Re: Add support for GE EZ Smart Motion Sensor (Model ZW6302)

Hi Pete,

Turn on Indigo's Z-Wave Debug Logging checkbox (via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure... menu item), then trip the motion sensor a few times and wait a few minutes for it to reset. Once that is done copy/paste the contents of the Event Log window into a follow-up post for us.

Also, do you have a link to a PDF or manual for the module? I'm wondering if it has any configuration parameters or not.

There is a manual for it here:

https://byjasco.com/products/ge-z-wave- ... ion-sensor

The actual download link for it is here:

https://byjasco.com/sites/default/files ... G%20v1.pdf

Here is snippets from the Debug. It is node 38. I have a lot of Z-Wave devices, so I just picked through and grabbed the stuff for node 38. If you want all of it, I can paste that in.

Here is the initial debug:

Z-Wave Debug RCVD getNodeProtocolInfo: 01 09 01 41 53 9C 01 04 07 01 7A
Z-Wave Debug . . getNodeProtocolInfo: node 038, class name: Notification Sensor
Z-Wave Debug . . getNodeProtocolInfo: class hierarchy: Routing Slave : Notification Sensor : Notification Sensor (04 : 07 : 01)
Z-Wave Debug . . getNodeProtocolInfo: base class command: 00
Z-Wave Debug . . getNodeProtocolInfo: supported class commands: 20
Z-Wave Debug . . getNodeProtocolInfo: encrypt class commands:
Z-Wave Debug . . getNodeProtocolInfo: features: routing, beaming

Here is where I tripped it:

Nov 28, 2017, 4:07:17 PM
Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestAlarmSensorStatus: 01 0F 00 04 00 26 09 71 05 00 00 00 FF 07 08 00 5F
Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: node 038, endpoint None, cmdClass 71, type 0, value 0, classSubKey 710000
Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: typeExt 7, valueExt 8, classSubKeyExt 7100000708

According to the documentation, it will wait 4 minutes before checking for motion again by default. If no motion is detected it'll send another message saying it no longer detects motion. Here is that message:

Nov 28, 2017, 4:11:17 PM
Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestAlarmSensorStatus: 01 0F 00 04 00 26 09 71 05 00 00 00 FF 07 00 00 57
Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: node 038, endpoint None, cmdClass 71, type 0, value 0, classSubKey 710000
Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: typeExt 7, valueExt 0, classSubKeyExt 7100000700

Perfect, just what we need. We'll add it to the list to get a definition added to Indigo.

Indigo 7.3 (and 7.3.1) are now available and should support the GE Smart Motion Sensor (34193 / ZW6302).
