NEO Coolcam NAS-WR01ZE Z-wave EU Smart Power Plug Socket

UpDate 8 Nov 2017 - As of Indigo v7.1.1 the Neo Power Plug is supported and working without the errors reported below

Yet another Neo product, with EU/UK adapters both ends it sticks out of the wall socket quite a bit but eventually I will buy a EU inline plug and socket, they also do a USA version (just not a UK one!!)
Installed into Indigo first time again, no problems and it can be controlled by Indigo and reports On/Off from the switch on the unit as well.
The only annoying thing is when it is turned on or off it reports a random energy total of about 240 kWh before resetting

Re: NEO Coolcam NAS-WR01ZE Z-wave EU Smart Power Plug Socket

I'm not sure why it appears the module is sending out the bogus/duplicate kWh message. Adding a device definition to Indigo won't prevent that.

Turn on Indigo's Z-Wave debug logging checkbox via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure menu item, then record the messages again. It will provide more information about how Indigo is decoding the messages for me.

Re: NEO Coolcam NAS-WR01ZE Z-wave EU Smart Power Plug Socket

Sorry, I think you'll have to contact their support to ask them. It is definitely sending non-zero W and kWh values to Indigo. I think it must either have a firmware bug, or the one you have is marginal.

Thanks Matt, time to get the Chinglish dictionary out I think!
Mind you saying that their user manual is very well written and better than some z-wave instructions I have tried to understand and apart from this 'blip' the Neo range have been so easy to include, work well and are solidly built units.

Well I messaged the AliExpress company I bought it from ( Coolcam Official Store ) and without any problems after explaining the power reporting error they just sent me a message saying a replacement is on its way with a new tracking number for me to follow progress.
I was not asked to send back the old one so I will have an inline on/off switch as I have managed to kill the constant power reporting to the log so am well pleased. Highly recommend them as a company and the Neo products, great value compared to Aeotec and Fibaro especially when they have their frequent sales.

Matt, I have all the Neo range manuals with the config parameters, if that is helpful I can email them if required

Re: NEO Coolcam NAS-WR01ZE Z-wave EU Smart Power Plug Socket

hi CliveS,

ordered the EU-plug and unfortunately i see the same results. on/off works fine but a see a total energy around 240kWh and back to zero.
please keep us informed on the new plug they have sent you. Price for the plug is very nice, but only if also the power consumption works.

Re: NEO Coolcam NAS-WR01ZE Z-wave EU Smart Power Plug Socket

The postman has just arrived with the replacement and it does the same as the original so counting yours that makes 3 out of 3 with this problem. Looking around the web no others are having the reset to zero loop so the Neo's are obviously sending a reset to Indigo that other systems are not acting on.
At least I got mine at 50% off (bought one, got one free!!) and it works fine as an on/off switch.

Re: NEO Coolcam NAS-WR01ZE Z-wave EU Smart Power Plug Socket

was in contact with the Chinees supplier of NEO Coolcam.
They are not aware of any software bugs and the switch should work for the power monitoring.

3 out of 3 not working is not a "marginal". So who is right, INDIGO or NEO?

As the author of the ZWave Sensor Logger and Watcher plugins, I've just decoded the raw values to check Matt hasn't gone wrong anywhere  and I'm seeing the same as Indigo is.

What parameter values are set on the units, particularly for parameters 3 and 4?

I've already got the manual - I meant what are your parameter values set at.

I've just uploaded .21 which should fix your error but also might cast light onto things; I suspect your device is reporting kVAh somewhere in that lot.

Can you put Sensor Logger in debug and run Action (Zwave Sensor Logger -> Get All Power)?
