Looking for a Z-Wave (or Insteon) WIRED Fan Controller

I am Looking for a Z-Wave (or Insteon) WIRED Fan Controller, and found this Z-Wave device:
https://www.amazon.com/GE-Wireless-Cont ... an+control

However, it is not listed as supported on the Indigo device page:
https://www.indigodomo.com/devices/

I am guessing I can pair it with Indigo, but will it be recognized as a fan controller? Since I use custom pages for almost everything, I just need the distinct commands (Hi, Med, Lo, Off) to be available, and be able to query it's status.

For those who recommend I go with a wireless module, I have 2 fans that I have full wired control, and would like to use what I have in that regard and not have to install extra modules in the canopy.

Thanks,

Chris

I don't believe anyone has actually tried this with Indigo, but it's likely not to fully work (and it certainly won't show up as a fan controller like the FanLinc does). You may be able to catch the raw commands that come from the controller to figure out what raw commands to send to it to set the speed, but I can't guarantee it. If you do purchase one, make sure once you've included it in Indigo that you submit the device information from the device config dialog.

Too bad - the FanLinc/KeypadLinc combination is pretty unbeatable for automated (and manual) control of generic (inexpensive) ceiling fans...

Re: Looking for a Z-Wave (or Insteon) WIRED Fan Controller

I bought a few of these GE fan controllers and using FlyingDiver's Masquerade plugin I created a controller device with Off/Low/Med/High settings and it works perfectly.

http://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=216&t=17402

So in the end you have the actual device listed as a dimmer, then the Masquerade device which basically assigns values to a state. Off=0, Low=32, Med=64 and High=96

Hope this helps...
