Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

Hi,

I just got the new Aeotec Nano Dimmer, ZW111-C (EU).
It syncs with Indigodomo and is usable for me as 024 - Dimmable Power Switch showing load.
But Im missing the binary input and setting options for the device advanced settings.

Manual: http://products.z-wavealliance.org/Prod ... manual.pdf

In order to get a notification from the Dimmer when the S1 or S2 input is trigged param 80 needs to be configured. It supports different methods. Hail CC, Basic CC and Multilevel Switch. I don't know what is the best but I've attached a log from using Hail CC. Note that i did not connect a light bulb to the dimmer yet so it does not change state to On. The manual shows all parameters available.

This seems like a incredible dimmer, I have Fibaro Dimmer 2 and Qubino Flush Dimmer today but this seems more capable with all the customizations..
Please get this thing supported fully in Indigo and I'll be a happy customer.
Let me know if you want any more debug and testing done.
Also the "Submit to Indigo Domotics" page does not work, got a server side error once I posted the form.

Cheers

Re: Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

Oooh I really love these brand new Aeon Labs Nano Dimmers ZW111!!
http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-aeon-labs-nano-dimmer-gen5

These Nano Dimmers look really cool and have very small footprint (just 4 mm higher than the Qubino dimmer).
They seem to be able to handle all kind of wiring setups and other issues I have had with Qubino and Fibaro dimmers.

Hopefully they will be fully working with Indigo soon. I´ll buy a bunch of them from my local supplier here in Sweden (www.m.nu)

looks good as I have 2-wire throughout the house

+1 for indigo integration :-)

Re: Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

Just hooked up a light fixture (5 Osram Parathom Advanced GU5,3 35W Dim LED 12V with an Eglo LED 0-70W transformer) to this Aeotec Nano Dimmer.
It flashed around at "boot", calibrating the type fixture just like the Fibaro dimmer. It choose trailing edge dimming, I tried to set it manually to leading and it also worked well.

Previous I had set param 80 to 1 for Hail CC. And now it works. I can control the light from Indigo and it reports its state back.

I tested the input S1, and it works once I set param 120 to 1 or 3. But here I found out that the Aeotec manual is incorrect.
It says: 0 = Automatic, 1 = Momentary Push Botton Mode, 2 = 3 way switch mode, 3 = 2-state switch.
But it turns out that 3 = Momentary Push Botton Mode, and 1 = 2-state switch.

So once I set it to 3 I can use a regular push button for on/off and hold for dimming.

So today I can use these dimmers and only need the Indigo integration to bring on the extra features and S2 input. And providing a GUI configuration menu.
I think that I could detect the S2 input with a Z-wave Raw package trigger but I have no time left today to test that out.

Also after the calibration param 131 was set to 20 causing the min dim level to be quite bright for these amazing Osram bulbs. I decrease that to 8 and they barely light up, producing a very Halogen like glow. (I also have two fixtures with Osram Parathom PRO GU10 Dim bulbs that just look amazing with their CRI>90 and SDCM<3, I can wait to dim those with this little device).

Re: Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

Thanks for the feedback. I've added including more complete support for this module to the feature request list.

Re: Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

Does the support (for ZW111-C) that you say you put on the "more complete support" list include the ZW-111-A as well?

I just got an alert email saying it was available...

https://www.amazon.com/Aeotec-lighting- ... 06XC4CH98/

Thanks!

The difference between ZW111-A and ZW111-C is just the frequency for the Z-Wave that the device uses. If Indigo supports ZW111-A then it will also support ZW111-B and ZW111-C.

Read more at
https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000027557-what-are-aeon-labs-product-codes-

ZW111-A is the US version (908.42MHz)
ZW111-B is the AU version (921.42MHz)
ZW111-C is the EU version (868.42MHz)

Re: Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

+1 on this device.

It's great, and just what I've been needing since I have no neutral in my switch gangs!

It's working well for me actually. I set parameter 120 (to 1) and 125 (to 1 because I found the dimming too slow).

Works great!

Though maybe my early ZW111 has a firmware issue since I still need to set S1/S2 switch mode to 2 State, while its a physical push button that i use as I mentioned earlier.
Anyone else having the same issue?

I have exactly the same issue too!
I installed 2 of the Nano Dimmers tonight and I was sooooo confused when I initially configured parameter 120 (S1 switch type) to 1 which is supposed to be Push Button (and what I have as buttons) but then the lights are on all the time and they only go off while keeping the push button pressed.
As soon as I changed parameter 120 to 3 which means S1 = 2 way switch then my push button works fine!?

I am not sure if this is a firmware issue or if the manual is incorrect?

Re: Aeotec Nano Dimmer ZW111

I think I have found the latest (June 1st 2017) Engineering Document for the Nano Dimmer. Found it at Vesternet:
http://www.vesternet.com/downloads/dl/file/id/1877/product/2828/z_wave_plus_aeotec_nano_dimmer_engineering_sheet.pdf
I can see in that document that the proper value for push button on S1 and S2 is 3 which we already have guessed so the user manual is indeed wrong.
