Schlage BE469 setup issues

searched the forums/wiki/you tube. etc etc before coming here. setting up a BE469 with Indigo 7.03.

took a while but successfully enrolled the lock with the Zstick and have the device in Indigo. but unable to control lock. I have a zwave siren around 32 inches away which is working normally so no distance issues I dont think.

Here is the log

You included it without encryption (note the Encryption Status). Exclude the device then include it using encryption.

Re: Schlage BE469 setup issues

Thanks

I did select Encryption originally but it did not take I guess. I redid the setup and now working.

As a sidenote, A while back I requested you guys look into a "youtube Channel" or similar videos on your site instead wikis/pages of setup instructions for various setups/installs. These could everything from Basic Setup (basic Insteon setup for Novice users,) to more advanced type videos covering typical Indigo issues.ie pairing xwave devices with v7, garage door setups, basic scripting, variables etc etc.

As an Airline Pilot....I can read a manual all day..........but until you are in the simulator or real life training, There is just no substitute for visual.

Just my two cents worth.

Cheers.....Ian

We'd love to do that. Unfortunately, with just 2 of us, it's just not in the cards at the moment.

Re: Schlage BE469 setup issues

Installed a second Schlage BE469 successfully with Encryption but have this error message when I do a status request. What should I do to rectify this.?

Re: Schlage BE469 setup issues

I get those quite often and have learned to ignore them. Seems like a data loss and a re-try. Doesn't seem affect it's functionality...

However, at some point, the BE469 WILL lose it's mind. It's happened to me at least twice. I haven't figured out what causes it. It just won't communicate via Z-Wave anymore. Excluding/Including will not work. I have to factory reset the lock and then things start working again. Oddly, it stays included with my Z-Wave network after a reset. I only have to re-program the lock codes, and Indigo Z-Wave lock manager makes it painless (not so when this happened on my old Vera controller).
