Re: Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue

Indigo 7.0.2 is now available for download and should prevent the restarting of the Z-Wave interface communication.

Re: Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue

Hi Matt,

I just installed 7.0.2 but I get this error again (I also reported this earlier in this thread).
I think it is not related to what the OP mentioned, but it seems to be a ZWave issue nonetheless.

Code: Select all

Z-Wave Error                    rcvd packet checksum mismatch: 01 14 00 04 00 0E 0E 32 02 21 64 00 00 35 63 02 58 00 00 18 01 14
Z-Wave Error                    calculated checksum 8F, received 14 (sent NAK)
Z-Wave Error                    rcvd unexpected bytes (sent ACK): 07 0E 32 02 21 74 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 83

Do you have any idea what might be causing this ?

Re: Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue

There are a few possibilities. It might be the amount of Z-Wave traffic (collisions), or it could be a USB error. I know that when I was testing the Z-Stick using different hubs and extension cables I would often get checksum mismatch errors. Seeing these occasionally is okay – Indigo probably doesn't need to be as verbose about logging these as it is. I'd only be concerned if you noticed a problem or you were seeing them very frequently.

Re: Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue

I have only seen this error twice, and both times it was when starting the Indigo server.
I don't think it is congestion, I do not have many zwave devices, but it might be a usb error as the stick is located on a 1 meter USB cable.
I don't notice anything strange at all, so I'll just ignore this message.

Yeah, a lot of those extender cables cause odd serial communication problems unfortunately. If it's only a periodic problem then maybe it'll be ok.

Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue Switching from Gen2 to Gen5 device

I successfully upgraded from Indigo 6 to 7. After the upgrade I decided to upgrade my Zwave controller from an Aeotec Get 2 (Black) to Gen5 (White). Indigo keeps looking for the old device and I have no idea how to stop it polling. I simply removed the Gen2 device and then pugged in an reconfigured the Gen5.

How do I stop the error messages shown below from the log:

Z-Wave Error serial port communication error: read failed: [Errno 6] Device not configured
Z-Wave Error Z-Stick Plus (ZW090) might be disconnected
Z-Wave Error silently retrying serial connection every 5.0 seconds
Interface Failure lost connection with interface

Re: Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue

Every Z-Stick has a unique serial port name, so you need to select the new Z-Stick's serial port via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure menu item. Since you have the Gen5 version now look for a name that has usbmodem in it.

Re: Indigo7 Z-Wave Issue

I've had bad experiences even with just a 6 inch extender cable! Caused all sorts of odd behaviour!
