Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

How can I use Venetian mode or tilt the window coverings?

It is enabled but I don't find a way to trigger it. I can only set it to like 10% but then it fully closes after reaching the position.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

What is the command to set the lamellas to a tilt level 0-100%?

If that is not possible how can I start-stop the movement by a script?

I can only set the brightness for absolute position...

You have to set "brightness" (in %)

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

Are you using these as just a tilt controller or are you also using them for lifting the blinds?

Computer says no.

I use it for both.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

So does the up/down movement work correctly? I'm just wondering if you need to either re run the calibration or set manual run times (if your module supports that)

Computer says no.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

Yes it does.
However I just use normal mode (not venetian) and close it to 0%, then open it to 2%. This is easier for me since I only use venetian mode if it is fully closed.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

Ahh. Now I tried something similar with the Qubino shutter module and I could never get it to work correctly when it was auto calibrated. I'm not sure about your module (I have one but only for use on a roller blind) but on the qubino you could just set custom run times and that solved the issue for me. If the fibaro can do the same that might well work for you too!

(In the end I actually abandoned getting the blinds to lift as it was just an extra layer of complication and as we so very very rarely lifted them it just wasn't worth it in the end)

Computer says no.

@Indigodomo

How can I control position of slates and the blinds by using Python?

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

I'm guessing from the above posts that they present as dimmer devices. If so you'd just set the brightness.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

Yes but there are two brightnesses. One for position, one for slates.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

I believe the FGRM222 (maybe the 221 as well but I'm not sure) uses a manufacturer proprietary command (0x91) for controlling both the blind position and the lamella's rotation/orientation. It isn't documented well, but you can try sending a raw Z-Wave command (Z-Wave->Interfaces->Send Raw Z-Wave Command... menu item) to see if we can figure out how to control it. Try something like this for the payload bytes:

0x91 0x01 0x0F 0x26 0x01 0x01 0x00 LAMELLAS_ORIENTATION

where LAMELLAS_ORIENTATION is a value from 0 to 99 decimal, so no "0x" prefix (0 is vertical and 99 is horizontal, I think).

You can also try this command for setting a specific blind position:

0x91 0x01 0x0F 0x26 0x01 0x02 BLIND_POSITION 0x00

where BLIND_POSITION is a value from 0 to 99 decimal, so no "0x" prefix (0 is fully closed, 99 is full opened, I think).

I wish Fibaro had implemented the blind position and lamellas as separate endpoints (and not used a proprietary command), then it would be easy to map them to Indigo dimmers. Let me know if the commands above work. If they do we'll add to our request list to add UI actions for them.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

Thanks. Both commands work perfectly (FGRM222).

However if I fully open the covering it goes down a bit to close the lamella position. So if I set the brightness to 100 Indigo should automatically set the lamellas to open. I am be able to do this with triggers. Since I only want the lamellas to be tilt if closed this is pretty easy.

Re: Fibaro Roller Shutter - Venetian

i would like to ask one more question concerning that topic - maybe there is also a undocumented z-wave command...

how con i just stop the shutter if it is moving - e.g. i start closing it and i just want it to stop in the position its just at?

thx

Hi Lukas,

For UP, DOWN, and STOP control see the raw commands referenced on this thread. It may not work with your module, but it is worth a try.
