Re: Fibaro "The Button"

You could trigger on Battery Update or indeed “Any communication” :-)

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Have you turned on Zwave debugging or a ZWave Watcher to check what’s being received?

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

If you listen (with your ear  ) can you hear a distinct click as you press the button. If not then it may be defective. I had one that behaved like this (see an my earlier post in this thread) and I got it replaced. The new one has a very definite click. :)

Similar issue - all I see in Indigo when I press the button (any number of times) is the battery level. With Z-Wave debugging enabled, four presses:

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Was it working and then it stopped, or has it never worked?

Also, it looks like you included it with encryption. I'd suggest excluding it and re-including it without encryption to see if that makes a difference. If not then it sounds like it might be defective.

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

It did work, when I first set it up, just about a year ago. See earlier in this thread where I updated from 7.0.2 to 7.0.4 to get proper tap recognition.

I'll try excluding and re-including it without encryption and see what happens.

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

I had the exact same issue with all of my buttons.
I ended up sending them back to vesternet and replaced them with the Aeotec Dual or Quad buttons which work great!

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

I was able to exclude it and re-include it without encryption. I'll be curious to see if this happens again.

(So far the button is just a toy; I haven't figured out a good application for it yet).

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Follow-up: It did it again. I left it unused for several months and then went to use it, and all I got was battery level.

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

I finally reached the pinnacle of home automation with "The Button". When you press it, it plays a fart sound in the house! I rest my case.
