In many cases if your having trouble including a z-wave device try excluding it first.

I did that but it didn’t help. I love the size but it just seems flaky. I’m wondering if others have had success with this.

Mine included fine and works as it is supposed to. Battery life is ok, but there is a sometimes 5s or more lag between walking in front of the motion sensor and Indigo reacting to the trigger. Since I have it turning on the lights in that room, the delay is annoying.

What does yours give when you write the device details to log?

Here's mine:

Re: Is Zooz 4-in-1 Zwave Sensor supported?

Thanks Ross
I’m sorry there may be some confusion. I’m using the ZSE09 sensor. It does seem like people have had success with the ZSE40. I’ve had luck including the ZSE09 although not the way Zooz says to do it. They say to press the z-wave button 3 times to put it in inclusion mode. This didn’t work for me. I had to “press and hold “ the button to get it to work. ??

Anyway, it seems to be included but I can’t get it to sync. Indigo thinks it may be sleeping but I press the z-wave button to wake it... no joy. Makes me crazy.

Have you tried removing the battery from the module for a few seconds? Modules will often automatically stay awake for a couple of minutes after the battery has been replaced.

Note Indigo doesn't have a device definition yet for the ZSE09. It might work to provide basic motion detection without it though.

Re: Is Zooz 4-in-1 Zwave Sensor supported?

Hi again...

I don't want to beat this thing to death but I was finally able to include the Zooz ZSE09 and get it to sync. And, I was able to capture data on it. Is this enough information for possible formal recognition by Indigo? Thanks!! :)

Yes, we'll add it to the list to look into.

Re: Is Zooz 4-in-1 Zwave Sensor supported?

I think this is the same as the Monoprice version I purchased. The inclusion press stuff instructions are definitely wrong. I had to press and hold. Also it's a hidden switch accessed with a paperclip or similar, not the tamper switch on the main board.

SmartThings refugee, so happy to be on Indigo. Monterey on a base M1 Mini w/Harmony Hub, Hue, DomoPad, Dynamic URL, Device Extensions, HomeKitLink, Grafana, Plex, uniFAP, Fantastic Weather, Nanoleaf, LED Simple Effects, Bond Home, Camect.

The new cheap 2 in 1 also carrying the ZSE09 ID doesn't.

At least not on 7.1; or as synced from 7.1 on 7.1.1; I've been too busy to exclude and reinclude it on the new version of the server... hope to do that this weekend as well as find the raw command I'd need to roll my own trigger for it.

Ya... press and hold. Why can’t manufacturers provide accurate instructions. At least on line? Print lives long... online docs live until updated. Duh

Re: Is Zooz 4-in-1 Zwave Sensor supported?

Here is what the ZSE09 (Node 27 on my system) sends when tripped with Z-wave debug on:

    Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestAlarmSensorStatus: 01 10 00 04 00 1B 0A 71 05 00 00 00 FF 07 08 00 00 7E
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: node 027, endpoint None, cmdClass 71, type 0, value 0, classSubKey 710000
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: typeExt 7, valueExt 8, classSubKeyExt 7100000708
    Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestBinarySensorStatus: 01 0A 00 04 00 1B 04 30 03 FF 0C 2E
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestBinarySensorStatus: node 027, endpoint None, type 12, value 255
    Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestVarSensorStatus: 01 0C 00 04 00 1B 06 31 05 03 0A 00 C1 16
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestVarSensorStatus: node 027, endpoint None, type 3, raw value 0A00...
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestVarSensorStatus: 193 lux (float: 193.000000)
Z-Wave Debug . . requestVarSensorStatus: ignored (no device found for dispatch)
    Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestAlarmSensorStatus: 01 10 00 04 00 1B 0A 71 05 00 00 00 FF 07 08 00 00 7E
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: node 027, endpoint None, cmdClass 71, type 0, value 0, classSubKey 710000
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestAlarmSensorStatus: typeExt 7, valueExt 8, classSubKeyExt 7100000708
    Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestBinarySensorStatus: 01 0A 00 04 00 1B 04 30 03 FF 0C 2E
    Z-Wave Debug . . requestBinarySensorStatus: node 027, endpoint None, type 12, value 255

Not sure which message is the alarm trip, and the lux reading does;'t really interest me for the purpose I intend to use the sensor for.

Indigo 7.2.0 is now available for download and has Z-Wave support for the Zooz Motion / Light Sensor (ZSE09).
