Re: Strips - The invisible door/window sensor - Sensative

That would depend on the way the sensor communicates with the Z-Wave network. If it presents as a simple switch (on/off) or door/window sensor, it will likely work straight away, but may require Matt & Jay to add a device definition for it.

Moreover, depending on pricing, this has the potential to be a great product.

No,
Doesn't work.
Gets included. but only battery status. Shows up as a routing slave.

Do a define and sync on the device again, and copy/paste the relevant lines from the Event Log into a reply here. When we start looking at adding this device, we'll need that information.

Is this enough info to get it added or do you need more info?

Yes, I believe we have the information needed to create the device definition in Indigo for this sensor. It is now on the feature/hardware request list.

Re: Strips - The invisible door/window sensor - Sensative

Hi guys.

I just bought one of these yesterday, knowing it wasn't yet supported but to keep in stock for when it is; I know where I'm going to use it when it's ready.

It has three modes of reporting, "Binary Sensor", "Notification" or "Basic", which you change with parameter 1 set to 0, 1 or 2 respectively. Default out of the box is mode 1.

Define & Sync after changing to each of these modes makes no difference in Indigo - it still reports as a Routing Slave (despite being battery and therefore can't route!) and only state value is battery life.

I've just submitted device reports via the online form with it in all three modes in case you can see better info in one than the others.

My log is same as Asconasy's:
Code: Select all
2016-03-25 21:48:14.085   Z-Wave   Indigo Device "031 - Door Strips" Z-Wave Properties:
Indigo Z-Wave Version: 1.0.355
Node ID: 31
Model: Routing Slave
Model ID: 00030003
Manufacturer: Unknown
Manufacturer ID: 019A
Protocol Version: 4.05
Application Version: 0.01
Model Definition Version: 0
Library Type: 6
Class Name: Routing Slave
Class Hierarchy: 04 : 07 : 01
Command Class Base: 00
Command Versions: 80v1 30v1 84v2 85v1 86v1 70v1 71v1 72v1 73v1 59v1 5Av1 5Ev1
Multi-Endpoint Types: - none -
Multi-Endpoint Classes: - none -
Multi-Instance Counts: - none -
Features: routing, battery, beaming, waking
Neighbors: 1, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28

Config param 1 is as above.
Config param 2 is 1 byte: LED indication. Default is 1 (Event indication on). Option is 0 (Event indication off).

Re: Strips - The invisible door/window sensor - Sensative

Is this already working in the latest version of Indigo?

Shouldn't be that hard to add it. The product seems very practical.

No, as described above it does not work and needs a custom device definition in Indigo. We will update this forum thread when it is working.

Any information about when you release the update?

Can't wait to use these sensors.

Re: Strips - The invisible door/window sensor - Sensative

How do you wake the strips up?

I can't add them by using the round magnet on the rounded side of the sensor three times:
Z-Wave Error Syncing - failed to assign return route

I just added a new Fibaro Motion Sensor (Zwave Plus) and it was shown as a routing device as well. It now works though.

Please Indigo hurry up I want to use them as I don't have any alternative due to space restrictions.

It's sad anyway that they don't work already. They are advertise (as any ZWAVE device) to work on any controller. Clearly not the case.

Re: Strips - The invisible door/window sensor - Sensative

I found I had to wake them before I hit sync; if I hit sync then woke them it didn't work.

You can watch the LED light up as you use the little magnet.
