A long weekend you have over there? :)

I'm just reading the specs to see what command classes it's using - I thought it might be possible to use my ZWave Lock Manager plugin, but it's treating your garage as a (eg Car Park) Barrier, not a Door, so at the moment my plugin won't interpret it.

I'll keep reading, but Matt might be already 'up' on this command class whereas I'm not.

I've put explanations in Bold alongside the above commands for you.

The latter one suggests (unless you did stop it mid-position) that your open and close limits aren't set right, assuming they can be set on this unit?

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

I went out to double check my Aeotec ZW062 and mine is working properly.

If I open it with the Indigo Touch GUI on my iPhone it shows open when the garage door is open.
Pressing OFF closes the garage door and updates the state to OFF

I also tested with opening the garage door with the push button connected to the ZW062 and when it was fully open and state was ON I pressed OFF in the Indigo Touch GUI and the garage door closes as intended and updates the status to OFF.

It also worked properly when I first opened the garage door with Indigo Touch GUI and then closed the door with the push button connected directly to the controller.

Here is my device info for the ZW062 if that helps:

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

CrazyFin, could you log what raw commands are sent by Indigo when you press open/close in Indigo?

The Open command looks wrong, but if it's responding on yours then maybe it should on srkinard's.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Open command in Indigo:
Code: Select all
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setBarrierValue: 01 0A 00 13 5A 03 66 01 FF 25 26 24
Z-Wave                          sent "Garage - Main door" open
   Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD requestBarrierStatus: 01 09 00 04 00 5A 03 66 03 FE 30
   Z-Wave Debug                    . .  requestBarrierStatus: node 090, endpoint None, value 254
Z-Wave                          received "Garage - Main door" status update is opening

And when garage door opening phase has completed I receive:
Code: Select all
Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD requestBarrierStatus: 01 09 00 04 00 5A 03 66 03 FF 31
   Z-Wave Debug                    . .  requestBarrierStatus: node 090, endpoint None, value 255
Z-Wave                          received "Garage - Main door" status update is open

Closing command in Indigo:
Code: Select all
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setBarrierValue: 01 0A 00 13 5A 03 66 01 00 25 27 DA
Z-Wave                          sent "Garage - Main door" close
   Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD requestBarrierStatus: 01 09 00 04 00 5A 03 66 03 FC 32
   Z-Wave Debug                    . .  requestBarrierStatus: node 090, endpoint None, value 252
Z-Wave                          received "Garage - Main door" status update is closing

And when garage door is closed I get the following update:
Code: Select all
 Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD requestBarrierStatus: 01 09 00 04 00 5A 03 66 03 00 CE
   Z-Wave Debug                    . .  requestBarrierStatus: node 090, endpoint None, value 0
Z-Wave                          received "Garage - Main door" status update is closed

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Yeah...weekends are long here...lol. I actually did install it that weekend and just never got around to posting the issues on here. I spent today putting a small 5U two-post rack in the crawlspace over the garage and one of my space Cisco 2960 switches in, tying the 2 gigabit ports into a 2Gbps port-channel back to the core 4948 switch. Probably half my security cameras feed into that spot so it was time to clean it up a bit.

Figured I'd try and catch up on projects this weekend...

Here's the details from mine:
Code: Select all
Indigo Z-Wave Version: 2.0.68
Node ID: 76
Model: Garage Door Controller (ZW062)
Model ID: 0103003E

Encryption Status: Supported but not Enabled
Multi-Endpoint Types: - none -
Multi-Endpoint Classes: - none -
Multi-Instance Counts: - none -
Features: routing, beaming, security
Neighbors: 3, 4, 5, 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 33, 34, 39, 40, 41, 49, 50, 51, 61, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 73, 74, 75

I'll have to turn on Z-wave debugging tomorrow when it's cooler and see what that shows when I try different functions.

Just the Zwave Watcher is fine as it is, but do try various commands and statuses, with a wait in between, and report back.

The only difference between yours and mine is that you seem to have a newer firmware 1.12 while I have 1.11 (need to update mine).
However, your Z-Wave version is quite "old" with 2.0.68 while I have 2.0.91. I think your problem will be solved by upgrading your Z-Wave plugin in Indigo to 2.0.91.

I think you can download the latest beta version of the Z-Wave plugin. It seems to be version 2.0.96 now on that link?
I downloaded 2.0.96 and tested my ZW062 and I can control the garage door from the Indigo GUI and it updates the status properly in Indigo GUI as well.

Maybe @matt can provide some info on this?

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Maybe this needs a separate thread, but just asking; Since I am in the process of finishing out a garage at my new house, I checked on Amazon and they don't list the ZW062 among the dozen or so Aeotec products they sell, but the search did show this one as related

https://www.amazon.com/GoControl-Linear-GD00Z-4-Z-Wave-Controller/dp/B00M75TEIU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506861062&sr=8-1&keywords=aeotec+garage+door+controller.

What are the odds I'd be able to use this one instead, even if I have to go to send/receive raw Z-wave commands?

Seems to be working natively with Indigo when looking at the dedicated thread for the GD00Z4-controller:

Yes, try this beta version of the Z-Wave Plugin. Re-sync the device in Indigo after installing the plugin (double-click to install it).

Downloaded the updated Z-wave plugin and installed, then did a resync of the device.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

No luck...it will open the door but won't close.

And the status always shows as ON...

I've put 3 different batteries in the little sensor unit so I know it's good. The LED blinks on for a moment when I clip it to the mount on the door. I've inverted it, etc.

In Indigo the controller details say Last Update 2017-09-02 15:51:37 (See screenshot. Screenshot is taken when door is CLOSED too but still shows on.)

Not sure what to do next.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Maybe a stupid question but have you made sure that you have paired the door sensor with the door controller?
I think it is the door sensor that sends the signal to the door controller (and Indigo) for closed or open status and since your Indigo GUI is showing ALWAYS open no matter if the garage door is open or closed I am suspecting that the door sensor is not reporting back its status to the door controller?
https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000165832-manually-pair-tilt-sensor-to-garage-door-controller

And I understand that you have followed the calibration procedure using parameter 34 as described in the manual at https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000053811-garage-door-controller-gen5-user-guide-? (Paragraph labeled "Calibration Steps via Parameter 34."

Since I have an older firmware 1.11 and mine is working properly it could also be a faulty device but that is not so common.

1. Is the garage door open or closed when you re-sync in the device into Indigo?
2. After the re-sync AND when the garage door is closed during the re-sync, does Indigo show open or closed as the state (i.e. BEFORE you do any open or close command)?
3. I know I sound like a broken record but can you please post your device info log again now after your upgrade of the Z-Wave plugin?

You know, there is not a single thing about doing that in the instructions that came with it?

I thought the sensor must be hard-coded to the unit.

Re-paired the sensor, re-synced to Indigo and then ran the calibration and it seems to be working.

Now to muffle those piercing sounds it makes on open or close.

Thanks to all who helped figure it out...I must say, Aeon Labs really did not do a good job with the instructions on this hardware.

Thanks
Ross
