I thought the sensor must be hard-coded to the unit.

It is paired with the door controller when delivered from the factory but something have for some reason caused that pairing to be lost during your setup.
The reason for pairing is that you can, if needed, replace either the main door controller or the tilt sensor and then just repair them back into one unit.

Re-paired the sensor, re-synced to Indigo and then ran the calibration and it seems to be working.

Wohoooo! Finally! That is great news!

Here is a link to a good page for the alarm sound configurations: https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000142866-configure-garage-door-controller

Or just disable the sounds completely (like I have done): https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/so ... controller

Here is a link to engineering doc which is good to read through: http://www.vesternet.com/downloads/dl/file/id/1863/product/2380/z_wave_plus_aeotec_garage_door_controller_engenireeng_sheet.pdf

The manual at http://www.vesternet.com/downloads/dl/file/id/1287/product/2380/z_wave_plus_aeotec_garage_door_controller_manual.pdf actaully talks about pairing the tilt sensor to the door controller... Read under paragraph "Pair the Sensor with your Garage Door Controller."

The same manual also mentions to the cool feature of downloading your own alarm sounds to the door controller under the paragraph "Download new ringtones to your Garage Door Controller from PC host."

Yes, try this beta version of the Z-Wave Plugin. Re-sync the device in Indigo after installing the plugin (double-click to install it).

I know this is a tangent of the thread, but it appears the thread's original question has been resolved, so ...

Is there a page on this site or a menu in Indigo that discusses updating the Z-Wave stick firmware and updating the Z-Wave plugin?

I had not considered Z-Wave to be a plugin. It's not listed in the Plugin dropdown menu, and the Interfaces menu in which if appears does not seem to offer updates. I had assumed Z-Wave interface was kept up to date through the Indigo updates...

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Internally we developed our Z-Wave library as a plugin, but it is a bit special in that it gets to present itself as an interface in the UI. Unfortunately, it isn't possible for us to update the Z-Stick firmware (or other modules) from Indigo. Aeotec hasn't released the documentation on how to do so (and we've asked a few times). Aeotec suggests you install Virtual Box and Windows to do it from macOS. I don't believe there are any firmware updates for the G5 Z-Stick, but there is one for the older Z-Stick.

Indigo 7.1.1 is now available for download and includes support for the Aeotec Garage Door Controller (ZW062).

Hey Matt...is it supposed to show up as a door? Still shows up as a normal on/off device...

Thanks

Indigo 7 doesn't have a door type device yet. Locks were added, but no doors.

Yes, what Joe said above. Internally we've done some work on adding open/close variant for relay style devices but it isn't quite ready to roll out yet.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Is there a way to query a parameter on this device on a schedule?

I am specifically talking about parameter 45 which gives the temperature. I can query the parameter from Interface > Z-Wave > Modify Configuration Parameter but can't find a way to do this on a schedule.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Not yet. I've done some work to add a readConfigParm API that scripts can use to query Z-Wave configuration parameters (there is already a sendConfigParm API), but it isn't fully implemented and working yet. Query related APIs are more difficult, especially for Z-Wave, because the reply to the command isn't necessarily immediate. I hope to get the API working though here at some point, just no ETA.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Where are you sourcing this garage door opener in the US? Vesternet in the UK?

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

I understand now! Apparently the vendor is also unable to sell in the US due to a patent issue. Ugh.

I purchased a FortrezZ Z-WavePlus MiMO2+ instead, and will wire up the contacts in conjunction with the door sensor already in place.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

I just installed one of these. Included it as a secure device. Sensor is calibrated and reports correct open/close/opening/closing. I've associated it with a Fibaro Keyfob and that works as well.
What I can't get working is controlling it from a Fibaro Dimmer 2. I've re-included the fibaro dimmer in secure mode and associated the garage door controller to group 4, but can't get that to control the garage door. I then tried to create a trigger to send 20 01 FF as raw command to the garage door controller, but that does also not work.

Log for normal On/Off sequence from Indigo, which works fine:

I've tried to set parameter 25 to 0 and 16 for the Fibaro, parameter 27 is set to 15.
Manual for the Fibaro: https://manuals.fibaro.com/content/manu ... T-v1.1.pdf

I'm all out of ideas, so appreciate any tips on how to get this working.

Edit: Firmware version of the Aeotec garage door controller is 1.14, latest I can find reference to on Aeotecs web site is 1.12.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Inside your Trigger Instead of sending the device Garasjeport the raw command, just have Indigo send it a Turn On (or Off) action to open/close it.

Re: Aeotec Garage Door Controller ZW062

Has anyone experienced this kind of behaviour: Sometimes my garage door controller status gets ”stuck” to Open (well actually On) even though the door is closed.

This actually may be due that my Z-wave reception is not so great at garage. Anyway since this device doesnt support status request, at least not in UI, is there any raw command or python script command as workaround to sensor status updated?
