Re: Aeon Labs Aeotec ZW098-A52 RGBWW LED Bulb

Hi

Have anyone got the AEON Labs RGBW Bulb to work (set RGB levels) with Indigo 7?

Indigo 7 identifies the bulb as a RGB-device and sends commands to the device, but the device stays with current RGB-level set instead of changing.

Yes, mines been working through beta. (Assuming it's same model no - think it is).

I believe I had to exclude it and reinclude.

I have one I've tested with pretty exhaustively. If it isn't working after a re-sync, then copy/paste the Event Log results of both the sync and the commands that are failing to change the RGB levels.

Re: Aeon Labs Aeotec ZW098-A52 RGBWW LED Bulb

I've been having trouble with three of these Aeotec bulbs responding on a series 2 Z stick and was curious how other people are making out with it on Indigo 7. I found two other stories on threads about some of the bulbs being slow to respond and interfering with other z wave devices.

If I pair the bulb close to the controller it responds normally but once at a distance (where previous z wave bulbs that are not gen 5 have worked) it becomes unresponsive and causes Indigo to reboot the Z stick. When I bring the z wave bulb back close to the stick the stick no longer controls the bulb at all and it needs to be re-paired.

As an experiment I installed a Zipato RGBW Bulb at the same problematic outdoor location at it works fine.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Happy Holidays!

Interesting. Just as a note the one I've tested is within about 5 feet of the Z-Stick. I haven't tried moving it far away, but will over the next few days.

Re: Aeon Labs Aeotec ZW098-A52 RGBWW LED Bulb

I have three of these Aeotec bulbs linked and working reliably in Indigo 7, including color changes via the Indigo client app on my mac. In Indigo iOS, I can control brightness and on/off, but not color. Is this an expected current limitation?

If so, looking forward to getting color change support in the iOS app... I hope its on your list Matt!

Thanks!
Darren

Hi Darren,

We plan on adding that capability to Indigo Touch in its next major rev.

I have three of these and none will change color with Indigo 7, just white and dimmable, is there a setting I'm missing, is it because it includes as a dimmable power switch ?

Set both whiteness sliders to 0 (W and W2), then try changing the RGB color swatch. Does that work? If not, then what visually do you see (at the bulb) as you change the color and the main brightness value (top edit field above the W and W2 edit fields)?

Re: Aeon Labs Aeotec ZW098-A52 RGBWW LED Bulb

This thread is old but I wanted to follow-up that Indigo 7.0 is now available (has been for a while). It includes supports for dozens of new Z-Wave devices, including the Gen 5 Aeotec modules.
