Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

I have just got the new Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080. I hope you soon will support the device. :)

I have opened the device's config dialog and clicked the Submit Device Info button, filled out the form, and submitted the information about the device.

What doesn't work about the siren? Most of them work just like on/off devices - turn them on and it goes off, turn them off and they turn off.

Re: Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

The Siren’s speaker system can access 5 different audio alerts. One tone is more relevant to intruder alerts, while others are more relevant to the likes of water leaks, medical emergencies and door chimes. It would be very nice if this is supported in Indigo.

The Manual and the Advanced Technical Manual are available under 'Download' from this website:

Re: Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

This siren supports 3 different siren levels (85db, 95db and 105db), and 5 different tones. Both the siren level and tone are selected via the same parameter (they should have used 2, IMHO):

Code: Select all
Parameter 37 Values

Tone 1 @ 85db: 257
Tone 1 @ 95db: 258
Tone 1 @ 105db: 259

Tone 2 @ 85db: 513
Tone 2 @ 95db: 514
Tone 2 @ 105db: 515

Tone 3 @ 85db: 769
Tone 3 @ 95db: 770
Tone 3 @ 105db: 771

Tone 4 @ 85db: 1025
Tone 4 @ 95db: 1026
Tone 4 @ 105db: 1027

Tone 5 @ 85db: 1281
Tone 5 @ 95db: 1282
Tone 5 @ 105db: 1283

Re: Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

I'd love to just export my action groups and devices and give them to you but Indigo doesn't allow this. So Indigo, please fix that and make it easy for us to share these things with others.

Here's what you are going to need to do. I only want the 85db ones, but you could feasibly either a) create 15 separate actions or b) create a variable called "siren_volume" and a lookup table to map codes to whatever volume you want.

1. Create the device

2. Create the siren actions. Executing these will actually sound the siren:

3. Create an off action:

4. The complete set:

I recommend putting a blanket over the siren when testing this :)

I also have this siren but it does not show up in the 'modify configuration parameter' list. It's number is 18 but it is not visible.

Any hints?

I have in Homeseer, which I use to include / exclude devices. My Zwave stick doen not have a button and unfortunately Indigo cannot in or exclude devices... Everything works with homeseer

Re: Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

Make sure the module is included in normal (not secure) mode. If it is included in secure mode then Indigo won't be able to send all the commands needed to it. If that still fails, then perform the define/sync in Indigo again and copy/paste the Event Log results into a reply for me.

Re: Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

It would be great if setting the tone and volume could be called in an action.

I see how to do it via the configuration parameters above, but it might as well be an action. ;)

Re: Aeotec Siren Gen5 ZW080

This thread is old but I wanted to follow-up that Indigo 7.0 is now available (has been for a while). It includes supports for dozens of new Z-Wave devices, including the Gen 5 Aeotec modules.
