[ANSWERED]: New Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

I want to buy the brand new Fibaro FGSD-002 and I wonder if it will work with Indigo.

Do you have to include the definitions in a future release of Indigo, or do you think I am able to use it in the current version?

Re: The new Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

I bought 5 of the Original ones, and they are pure rubbish. I honestly don't know how they are allowed to sell them. A smoke alarm that only detects smoke if the sensitivity is correctly set, how stupid are these guys, saying that, they work 10 times better with Indigo than with the HC2 which should tell you all you need to know.

Re: The new Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

Indigo supports the Fibaro FGSS001 smoke sensor, but we don't have any device reports yet from folks with the FGSD002. We'll probably need to add a model definition to Indigo for it to work correctly, but that normally is relatively straightforward.

As to how well they work, we don't have any personal experience with them.

New Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

Hi,

I have just received one Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002.

Indigo just recognize it as a routing slave.

Here is what the log is during syncing :

Code: Select all
Z-Wave                          Syncing - started for device "073 - Routing Slave"
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 15, 21, 26, 27, 31, 34, 35, 41, 42, 46, 47, 48, 49, 57, 59, 60, 61, 65, 66, 67, 69, 71, 72
Z-Wave                          Syncing - requesting neighbor list update of "073 - Routing Slave"
Z-Wave                          received "Cuisine - Luminance" sensor update to 3 lux
Z-Wave                          received "Cuisine - Humidité" sensor update to 36%
Z-Wave                          received "Cuisine - Temperature" sensor update to 21.0 °C
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - neighbor list updated from 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 15, 21, 26, 27, 31, 34, 35, 41, 42, 46, 47, 48, 49, 57, 59, 60, 61, 65, 66, 67, 69, 71, 72 to 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 15, 21, 26, 27, 31, 35, 41, 42, 46, 47, 48, 49, 57, 59, 60, 61, 65, 66, 67, 69, 71, 72
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigning return route to "073 - Routing Slave"
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigned return route
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved manufacture and model names: Fibaro System - 010F, Routing Slave - 0C021002
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved protocol version 3.99, app version 3.01

Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved wake interval of 360 minutes
Z-Wave                          Syncing - device "073 - Routing Slave" wake interval changed to 60 minutes
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 1 associations: []
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 2 associations: []
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 3 associations: []
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 4 associations: []
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 5 associations: []
Z-Wave                          Syncing - added group 1 association to interface
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved battery level of 100%
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - created device "073 - Routing Slave"
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - complete

FYI, I am using a beta version (info.plist says 1.0.325) of the z-wave protocol that you provided me some weeks ago because of issues with the new Aeon Labs multi sensor.

As I am in France, it is not possible for me to use the FGSD-001 because it does not comply to French regulations.

Many thanks for your help,
Bernard

Hi Bernard,

I've added the FGSD-002 to our list of Z-Wave modules to investigate sometime after Indigo Touch is released.

Re: [ANSWERED]: New Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

I'd say it's z-wave plus as it syncs fine from my conservatory , FGSD-001 and all z-wave devices are not working properly, only -plus.

IMHO at least it's based on a new chipset

Anything I could do to help you? The FGSD-002 are the only ones with proper certification as required by law at the moment at least in Germany and France.

Re: [ANSWERED]: New Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

I would also love support for this smoke sensor for the same reasons mentioned above.

My output is slightly different from the one posted above :

Z-Wave Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: 3
Z-Wave Syncing - assigning return route to "004 - Rook Sensor Eetplaats"

Re: [ANSWERED]: New Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

Hi Matt&Jay

In the newsletter reveived today it say the new version include:
• Fibaro Smoke Sensor (FGSS001) – additional variant

Does this mean that we do not get support for the FGSD-002 in the next release?
If so, a bummer :( I think my house now has about 90% devices that is not fully supported
by Indigo.

13 Fibaro Smoke Sensors

Re: [ANSWERED]: New Fibaro Z-Wave Plus Smoke Sensor FGSD-002

Hi Morten,

Correct, the FGSD-002 is not yet supported. It has some non-minor changes compared to the FGSS001.

We have dozens of requests for Z-Wave modules to be added, and are working on changing some processes so that we can stay more up-to-date as modules are released.
